Francois Hollande was this morning sworn in as the new Socialist President of France - before getting drenched on an embarrassing open-topped drive up the Champs Elysee. The 57-year-old was inaugurated in a simple ceremony at the Elysee Palace in Paris, nine days after defeating the conservative Nicolas Sarkozy in a nationwide election. But it was during his 'triumphant' drive up France's most famous avenue that everything started to go wrong. As he poked his head out of the sunroof of a Citroen DS5, heavy rain started to pour, and there was no effort made to pull back the sunroof.

The most dangerous time for our country is the antiquated “lame duck” season when defeated pols can plant mines in the roadway for the winners.
In the early days of the nation, it took legislators from western states weeks to reach D.C. It takes a couple of hours now. This ought to be junked.

Yup. Driving a Citroën was a big mistake.
Their constitution is a living, breathing, always gasping piece of work. It can be changed or amended at the drop of a beret. The document also makes it clear that the ever-changing "rights" and sovereignity of the French folks are derived from "the people", not from God. Oh, oh.
I wonder who or what a French President-elect swears to when he takes the oath of office - is it to the "people" (i.e.commune) or to the Euro Union.....or to their famous live-in, Johnny Depp?
Surely, not an oath to God with one hand placed on a Bible....not in fallen-away France, anyhow.
The closet commie, Monsieur le President Hollande, and his government should have a ball ruling France as there are virtualy few checks and balances to keep the new Leftist government on the straight and narrow....checks and balances our U.S. Constitution has provided us for over 200 years........at least up until the arrival of the illegitimate Obama regime.
