Charles Krauthammer, the conservative columnist spoke about the use of drones for domestic spying last night.
He blasted the idea:
"A drone is a high-tech version of an old army. It ought to be used in Somalia to hunt bad guys but not in America. Yes you can say we have satellites, we have Google Street, we have everything else, but that is no reason to accept a society where you are always watched by the government.
"I would predict the first guy who uses a second amendment weapon to bring a drone down who is hovering over his house will become a folk hero."

Hell, there are enough bad Somalis, Yemenis and muslim terrorists living in the US under the guise of being American citizens to warrant the use of a drone.
Looking at the multicultural landscape, one has to ask oneself: “Where does America start and where does it end?”
It is certain that the Founders would not recognize the country if they visited it today.
Can you imagine losing a ten thousand dollar drone to a thirty dollar “air hog” with a few fish hooks on stainless leaders!

Unfortunately, unless a drone is flying awfully low, it's not going to be susceptible to a rifle.
If this were another country the clown on the joystick spying on his countrymen would come to an ill end.
I've flown a three-axis helicopter in 15 mph gusts. A little one.
There are big ones, with nitromethane/methanol burning engines, that'll fly in much higher winds than that. Of course, the pilot needs to practice.
There are electric helicopters with motors that generate close to three horsepower. There may even be some that exceed that power level.
A shot with an EMP generator will bring it down.
Who would think of such a thing?
The Posse Comitatus thing seems to be little more than a feel good sop to throw out when some citizens get concerned. A speed bump, nothing more.

Therefore I also assume that someone will be able to take control of the drone and do whatever with it.”
The military grade encryptions and RF techniques are for all practical purposes jam-proof. However, those drones are controlled from someplace by some human that isn’t jam-proof.

The drones fly on average 13,000 to 23,000 feet.
