According to Jeremiah Wright in his interviews for the book The Amateur, Obama came to him with a Muslim background and asking for help because he didn't know who he was. The interviewer asked Wright if he was able to convert Barry to Christianity. Wright said he wouldn't go that far but that he taught him enough not to feel too uncomfortable still holding on to his Muslim heritage.

Important keywords there are "According to Jeremiah Wright", because, in reality, it's BS. Wright's Black Liberation Theology is about communism and revolution. It's an entirely bogus religion concocted by communists decades ago. Farrakhan's so-called "Nation of Islam" is another "Black Liberation" communist front movement. Farrakhan and Wright are very good friends.

“Obama was steeped in Islam but knew nothing about Christianity,” Klein says.

Klein asked Wright if he converted Obama from being a Muslim into a Christian.

“He said, I don’t know about that. but I can tell you that I made it easy for him to come to an understanding of who Jesus Christ is and not feel that he was turning his back on his Islamic friends and his Islamic traditions and his understanding of Islam,” Klein says.

I don't give a crap what Wright SAYS he did regarding Obama. Both are communists. They don't truly believe in religion, ANY religion. They just use religion (phony, concocted religions) as a means of advancing their communist ideology. That's what Black Liberation Theology is all about. Communists need to lie through their teeth in order to get people to listen to them. They can never be honest about who and what they are, and what they want to do to this country.
