OMAHA, Neb. - The Associated Press has projected Deb Fischer as the winner of the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.

Most of the evening, Jon Bruning maintained a lead over Fischer; however, during the 9 p.m. hour, the lead switched in favor of Fischer.

Just under 6,000 votes separated the top two candidates when the Associated Press called the race.

Congratulations to America, Nebraska, Deb Fischer and Sarah. We the People were called irrelevant much too soon by the GOP-e and the victories make America better. Thank You TEA Party Americans.

If you ever lurk on a leftwing website, you'll discover that they seriously believe higher tax rates will increase employment. Seriously. The theory is that since fat cat corporations can't keep their money anyway, they will hire as a way to avoid taxes.

The fact that it has never happened in the real world never seems to phase them. That's their theory.

I just hope she can beat Bob Kerrey. He has won handily in the past and a LOT of people vote for him just because of his Medal of Honor medal. I am glad the more conservative person won on the Republican side, but if Kerrey wins this race, a rabid lefty will have replaced a moderate lefty. That won’t help us.

Pretty good pull for someone so irrelevant as Sarah Palin. Wish we could have more non-factors like her around.

but, yeah, when Sarah speaks, I listen!

Sarah Palin has political instincts that few can match. Could that endorsement of Fischer come at a more perfect time? Same thing happened for Nikki Haley in SC. There Nikki was, languishing in the back of the back... then she met with Sarah, impressed her and won the endorsement, and the rest is history.

Sarah’s pull is amazing.....helping turn Fischer who was down 15 points in polls just a few weeks ago to winning by 5% is political power

"Helping" is the key word, however. This wasn't just Palin stepping in with a magic wand but rather watching the internals and figuring out which conservative stood the best chance of winning, and then coming out with timely support to build on the existing momentum. That's her MO, and it seems to be playing out again just as it did in 2010.

What a beautiful, smart, solid conservative woman. Still saddened that the $%#$&@&$%^ media has done so much to destroy her

Would have made the perfect President!

Confession time. I helped open the Santorum office here in Omaha. Rick seems and, I believe is, a good man who has become more and more conservative over the years. I was a ignorant liberal many moons ago. When I because a “true” Christian, God opened my eyes and I became more conservative, so I understood Rick. When Rick dropped out I was so upset. I did not think Rick was going to be like Reagan, but he was right on the issues and I wanted someone to stop romney. I switched to Newt hoping....

For a few weeks I amused myself by attacking romney supporters. I had seen some here who bashed Rick or Newt with passion, but never romney. I knew they were romney backers all along, but were ashamed to admit. (I would be ashamed too) These were my targets.

Now, unless God give us a miracle, we might be stuck with romney. I don't trust him, I keep thinking about this promise to the log cabin republicans; that it will take a republican, not a democrat, to get gay marriage legal across the nation. He has lied so much about his stand on gay marriage, abortion, cap and trade....I can't vote for him.

For months I had been looking forward to our primary, but yesterday I did not even know who I was going to vote for. We watched the conservative vote being split, which gave us romney. I liked Stenberg and Levin endorsed him, so I voted for him. The tea party express endorsed Bruning. Which tea party org are we suppose to trust? Are they trying to split the conservative vote again? Are those polls right? Is Sarah helping divide? Forgive me God for blaming her. I decided some of these tea party's are rinos, so I stuck with Stenberg. Then, after voting, someone here corrected me on the truth about Deb. There were a few here who wanted romney more than what is right, so who do I trust. The good news is, there are many like me who are very conservative, but voted for Stenberg. So, take all those Stenberg votes and give them to Deb; she will win big time.

This is surprise, don’t know anything about her, thought Breuning was going to be the survivor, but, if SP endorsed her, she’s OK by me.

Votes cast:

182,744 for Republican Presidential Candidates

Can’t argue with those FACTS.

However, you won’t see them in MSM

Twenty years ago, when Bob Kerry was in this political hayday....

No internet except in military and college research centers
(Unless you count Q-Link for C64 users who had 1200bps or 32bps modems).

No Twitter

No Facebook

No Tea Party

Sarah Palin was just a young mom

Conservative talk radio was just in it’s infancy

Obama was just a common community organizing thug.

Things have changed and Kerry can’t flash the smile and charm his way out. Bob Kerry also has a record and will be another stooge for Reid. That alone will piss off the Republican voters (who outnumber Democrats in the state).

Old Sen. Hatch in Utah must be pacing as well.

Senator Hatch: “Quick, send Palin a fruit basket and a dozen roses. Ah heck, just buy the entire store for her!!!”
