Whether Romney is sincere is another matter...

Someone needs to regularly coach him on faking sincerity, being principled and conservatism.

I’m on a liberal site right now arguing what I expect this go round. I make it clear that I will not vote for Romney nor obama, but Romney is a pit bull that will not give Obama a free pass as McCain did.

I agree with your assessment. Romney will do whatever is necessary to win. His biggest problem was probably just getting through a GOP primary. As a national general election candidate, I expect Mitt to do anything and everything to defeat Obama. He is not going to give Hussein a free pass the way the McCain campaign did.

He isn't. We know it, he knows we know it, and we know he knows we know it.

If he's smart, he won't be campaigning on being Mitt Romney, but on being not-Obama.

Mitt, if you're going to stage an audience of supporters around a prop, you need to put the black faces closer to you or the media will simply crop them out and make you look like you are only supported by old white people.

Media staging 101.

Good advise.Maybe Mitt can save a few campaign bucks by photoshopping the carefully staged Obama audiences for his background next time.

Romney appears to be a much better candidate than McCain

How to Act Human: Advice for Mitt Romney

"my advice to Mr. Romney is this: Since the evidence indicates that you lack the skills to simulate what you're not, you should stick to typecasting and go with what you’ve got and who you are. It’s not just your best option, sir, it’s your only one.

I disagree with the consensus that the clock is effective. Jut numbers to most voters. You have to you have to make it meaningful to them by showing what it will do to their lives if we don’t take our fical situation seriously.

If big media rebuts it great. Starts the conversation. At least we aren’t talking about dog, bullys and contraceptives.

I had to figure out how to use an analog watch/clock myself, including phrases like “half passed, 25 to, quarter passed, quarter to.” My public education in the NYC system was uh... fairly poor, to say the least.

I don't at all care for Romney, but he's got some dirty b@$tards working for him including Rove. They are really going to go after Obama (unlike McCain's who played footsie with Zero). Look what Mitten's staff did to Cain, Gingrich, etc.

I think Romney would have beat Obama in 2008 esp with the economy crisis we had, but more importantly from the debating stand point. McCain was terrible.

Romney has been pretty well vetted in the primary process...

Not enough to my liking. The other contenders for the nomination should have hammered his dismal liberal governing record in Massachusetts mercilessly, but none of them ever did. At least not to the level they should have.

I agree with your post.

We had three years where Bush was basically getting pounded by the MSM nonstop without much pushback.
Then “gentleman” McLame comes to a gunfight with the Chicago mob and brings a bb rifle.

The Clintons were apparantly afraid to use their vaunted private detective force on Obama because the Chicago mob had incriminating evidence on them - Vince Foster maybe?

I’m not a Romney fan but I believe he will have an effective campaign against Baraq and just maybe a Mormon dirty tricks squad that makes Axlegrease and Plouffe look like grade schoolers.

Romney appears to be a much better candidate than McCain - at least so far.

This is what I've thought all along. McCain was so incredibly inept as a candidate--worse than Dole, if that's possible. When Romney is on his game, he can be very effective politically.

No way he will pick Sarah as his running mate. Looks more and more like it will be Ryan.

“Will Willard play as dirty with The Won as he’s done with his Republican primary rivals. This will be interesting to watch.”

I expect he will. His overall management, planning, strategy, tactics, execution, funding and judgement reflect why he’s getting the nomination, and the others are not.

I have no idea who he will choose, but it is hard to see the argument for Ryan. Marco Rubio or Susana Martinez would be my choice.

You know, I agree wih you.

Romney is going to give as good, if not better than he gets...and he's pretty smart about it too.

McCain should have turned Sarah loose on Obama and all of his lies...but he did not. Instead they effectively muzzled her.

W should have stood up to the liberal/progressives as well. For two long years they dissed and trashed the man endlessly...then the libs crashed the economy (and make no mistake, they and their policies were responsible and Obama was in the middle of it).

But W did not and all the independents and RINOs and moderates were left to believe that a lot of the lies were true.

Romney will not have that problem. He will fight back and is already doing so.

Despite his past record, he is running on strong conervative stances now, and if we put in a Tea Party oriented majpority in the House and Senate, he will strand by them because he will know if he does, that a turn around will ensrue him a second four years and he will do it.

I pray God it is so, that we can get Obama out of the White House, have a Reagan-style turn around and begin to turn the nation back towards its roots.

Romney should go to a delivery room and get filmed in front of babies explaining to them how their currency was destroyed and how they’re saddled with debt.
