(CNN) - Herman Cain, who suspended his own bid for the GOP presidential nomination amid a flurry of allegations of past sexual impropriety, backed Mitt Romney Wednesday - his third endorsement after dropping out of the race.
"I've met with him privately and now I'm telling everyone publicly, if Mitt Romney wasn't your favorite candidate for the Republican nomination, get over it! We need unity to take back the White House, the Senate and keep control of the House of Representatives," Cain wrote in a statement.
The former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza, Cain also held an endorsement event in Washington, D.C., where he was flanked by Rep. Michele Bachmann, herself a former presidential candidate, and Rep. Steve King of Iowa.
In a veiled shot at President Barack Obama's explanation for his change in position of same-sex marriage, Cain explained his multiple previous endorsements as "my endorsement evolved."

He was picking the best options at the time. The options are now down to more obama or romney.

Actually, Mr. Cain, you were my favorite candidate for the Republican nomination. I donated to your campaign. I trusted you and you let me down. I'm getting over that. But I no longer trust your judgement. Endorsing Romney only reinforces my opinion of your judgement. I'll be voting for Goode instead of evil.

Well, I still like the guy, but really, who gives a cr*p who he or anyone else endorses? Romney was the hand picked candidate from the beginning. Neither Mr. Cain nor the others had a chance. We the people didn’t have a chance. The fix was in.
So fine. The nominee was chosen. He can receive a million endorsements for all I care. Still won’t vote for him.

Sorry Mr. Cain, no can do. I WILL vote for conservative GOP House and Senate members and vigorously support them. However, not so with Romney. My disgust towards Romney is stronger than my fear of Obama. So, I just will leave the ballot blank on POTUS.

You vote 3rd party and we all get screwed. Mr. Goode, whoever he is, has no more chance of winning in November than I do.
I admit Milt Romney is a squish. The only strategy for us right now is to vote Romney but ALSO vote in a bunch of conservatives in Congress and THEN hold everyones feet to the fire. Reality.

For the sake of party unity, you believe the conservatives in Congress can hold Romney's agenda at bay. For the sake of party unity, the GOP-e believe the conservatives in Congress will bend to Romney's agenda when push comes. Historically speaking ... they win ... you (we) lose. Even in recent history, only Bachmann and a handful of others held the line on the congressional floor during the budget stand-off. We lost. That's reality. And with Romney leading "our" team, there won't even be enough opposition to pose a stand-off.

For as long we continue to place Obama's and Romney's in power over us, the gulag remains a threat for us. I'm afraid there'll be a bunk for you as well despite supporting Romney. The holocaust reference to "arbeit macht frei" is not lost on me. The Nazi's knew how to turn Jew against Jew toward their own goals; and, in the end, both Jews ended up in the same camp.

If the horse does not learn to sing and we find ourselves stuck with Romney then Virgil Goode would be a very good choice. Google him before you say no!

I will not make the mistake my parents and other relatives did in 1968 and millions made in 1992. If there were a viable third party, maybe, but there’s not.
