Letterman Campaigns For Obama On 'Late Show': 'What More Do We Want This Man To Do For Us?'

On "The Late Show" David Letterman went into a partisan speech about Obama's role in the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Letterman---Obama had almost nothing to do with getting Bin Laden. Bush policies OBAMA OPPOSED got us Bin Laden...Obama said "yes." Praising him for some imagined courage in having that gift thrown in his lap and opening it would be like praising someone for having the courage to bend down and pick up a $100 bill off the sidewalk. It was a no-brainer decision.

And from what I read, it wasn't Obama but a general at CENTCOM who gave the go-ahead. But let's say Obama was the reincarnation of General Patton he and his bot followers think he is in giving the orders, consider these facts...

FACT: 2 of the 3 intel breaks that lead to OBL came on Bush's watch---2003 through ENHANCED INTERROGATION DEMS OPPOSED Khalid Sheik Mohammed reveals Obama's closest courier's nom de guerre.

In 2004, a top Al Qaeda operative Hassan Ghul, captured in IRAQ which war Obama and the Dems said was a distraction from capturing Bin Laden tells us who OBL's closest courier is--including his real name.

In the next few years the man's name is confirmed by warrantless wiretaps of terrorist phone calls.

So 3 policies Dems, and Obama, opposed--enhanced interrogations, warrantless wiretaps and the Iraq War all lead to OBL being killed.

This lead to a multi-year manhunt for the courier which lead the CIA to Bin Laden's compound. THANKS BUSH!

Yes, the Iraq War played a direct part in finding OBL---read it and weep DAVE.

If Obama had had his way on all these policies, Bin Laden would still be sitting in his compound watching porn.

So what more do I want from Obama Dave? I want from Obama precisely what I've gotten and what he's done---NOTHING...nothing other than to leave the White House and never to darken our airwaves with his vile presence again...also coincidentally what I want from you Dave you braindead automaton.

I watched a PBS program about Johnny Carson on Monday. They said nobody ever knew what political party he supported and that he joked about democrats and republicans alike. The reason; he didn’t want to pi$$ off half his audience.

I haven’t watched that tired old man’s show for many years. I’m surprised he still has a following.

I'm not that optimistic (regarding Bo). They're going to need dinner once they no longer have a White House chef.

Johnny was a smart guy....and yes he was pretty liberal.

I'm OK with that. Reasonable men can, and should, be able to disagree.

I'd have guessed that Carson was liberal, given the fact that he lived and breathed Hollywood. But the fact that I didn't *know*, speaks volumes for the man.

Contrast Carson with Letterman, or Maher, or Jimmy Fallon, or some of the other late night fools on parade. They're not fit to polish his shoes.

Letterman was entertaining...once. Also remember his daytime show while I was in college and trying to schedule courses around it.

Left Letterman long ago because he was no longer funny.

Now he’s just a mean-spirited bitter old Liberal kook.

It was the same with me. I used to get a big kick out of Letterman and his show, back in the 1980s. Watched it constantly. His crochety attitude towards Hollywood bigwigs/elitists was actually rather welcome, as he was always deflating their balloons of self-importance. But in a fun, good-natured way. Sort of like a meshing of Steve Allen and Fred Allen.

But gradually, he became the elitist himself, and catching his show occasionally in later years, I was amazed at how incredibly bitter and mean-spirited his “humor” had gotten. Really, really unpalatable, and not remotely funny. Then, when he made his disgusting “rape” joke about Palin’s 13-year-old daughter, that was it. Tuned in to watch his faux, totally insincere apology about it, and it infuriated me beyond words. I wanted to reach through the tv-set and punch the scumbag in the face. I don’t think I’ve ever been so mad. Hated his guts ever since, and even blocked the CBS affiliate from my television-set. It’s still blocked to this day.

David Letterman...let me see if we can find a pic of his house....

Here is a pic of his home in New York:

and here is a birdseye view of his second home in Montana:

So let’s see if Mr. Letterman will spread the wealth and let a few poor people crash at his place. He is a member of the .001%, right?

I loved his show back in those days. Part of the reason why he changed is you can't do that wacky experimental 12:30 stuff at 11:30. It's a different audience.

The politics also came in when he moved up in the world. Once he started getting really big money, it went to his head, and he started thinking that the world really cared about his political opinions.

But where the meanness comes from, I don't know. Maybe he was always a b*st*rd, but young viewers give the crazy, nasty guy a break and think he's hip or cool.

Also, Dave can get away with it. Johnny Carson knew if he got too pointedly political people would change the channel. Leno thinks a bit like that as well.

Letterman gets the people who don't like Leno and he'll probably always get them whatever he says or does. But the fact that host can get away with stuff like this doesn't explain why he wants to do it.

You’d never see Johnny Carson ever shill for a political figure. Of course Carson was a million times funnier too.
