The Grove shopping mall in Los Angeles has banned boxer Manny Pacquiao over comments he made about gay marriage, but the boxer said he was misquoted.
"Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance," the Grove said in a statement.
In an interview with National Conservative Examiner, Pacquiao addressed President Obama's recent endorsement of gay marriage.
"God's words first ... obey God's law first before considering the laws of man," Pacquiao told the Examiner. "God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married. It should not be of the same sex, so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah."
The article goes on to say that "Pacquiao's directive for Obama calls societies to fear God and not to promote sin, inclusive of same-sex marriage and cohabitation."
The original story quoted Leviticus 20:13, which states: "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
Pacquiao later released a statement saying he was misquoted and denying he has animus for gay people. "I didn't say that, that's a lie. I didn't know that quote from Leviticus because I haven't read the Book of Leviticus yet."
"I'm not against gay people. I have a relative who is also gay," the boxer insists.

“The Grove shopping mall in Los Angeles has banned boxer Manny Pacquiao over comments he made about gay marriage”
Um, what is the Grove, why would Pac-man go there, and why do we care? I knew when I read his comments yesterday that the hippies would be after him, and let’s assume this is the beginning of that. But I don’t care about it, nor his comments. Like I said yesterday, the only thing I’m interested is when he’s gonna beat up Mayweather.
Only if she is a lesbo.
I have a lot of relatives who are happy but none who are gay. I wonder if I'm banned from the Grove mall too.
And growing stronger every day.
Muslims would stone a homosexual in the year 2012 faster than the ancient Hebrews ever would.
Tolerance as long as you believe what they believe.
I am not against homosexuals either.
Tolerance is not the same as acceptance.
Apparently, his “crime” was expressing an opinion that had not been previously approved by The Grove.
The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance
Seems to me that The Grove is a gathering place for the intolerant.
Sheesh, what is it with these filipenos?
Don’t they know it is ok not to like white males (especially if they are right-wingers) but if they are gay..NOW you are a bigot?
I think what is really driving the left crazy about Pacquiao is he has a large Hispanic following.
If ANYONE is “banned” from a place, the place is being intolerant....
The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance,” the Grove said in a statement.
Do you allow homosexuals? Not many more intolerant then homosexuals.
Do you allow muslims? So tolerant they just kill people that do not accept their death cult.
Do you allow liberals? They are the most intolerant.....
So don;t claim a mantle of tolerance if you allow any of those mentioned..........
Tolerance is just one of four stages on the path to apostasy:
Outrage -> Tolerance -> Acceptance -> Practice
Homosexuality is abnormal, perverted, immoral, and deadly. It must never be tolerate or accepted, let alone practiced.
go to the ‘Awesome-town’ Mall (Valencia). It’s nicer there anyway ...
I know that may be the case with many homosexuals, my brotherIL is homosexual. He is absolutely opposed to “same sex marriage”, “gay adoption” and schools teaching it is OK.
He believes marriage is a religious ceremony between a man and woman, that only fathers and mothers should raise children, and because there is controversy never taught in school, that it should be left to parents.
His view is that homosexuals should stay out of the fray, and loathes militants and flamboyant, he feels that makes it really bad for the rest of them.
The homosexual community is not as monolithic as the MSM would like people to think.
It's not ironic when its hypocrisy.
Apparently, this boxer is not all that "macho". I'd have told them. "I never shop at the Grove anyway. It sucks."
Tolerance implies reeducation camps for the intolerant.
You mean that none of them "don their gay apparel" at Christimas time?
Wait. Are Muslims against gay marriage, too? Well, of course they’ll bravely bar them as well./sarc
Will the Grove ban the selling of Bibles, too?
Perhaps the Grove needs the J.C. Penney treatment.
I am so damn sick of being told I am a hater because I don’t rejoice over sodomy.
Hate sin, love the sinner, yes. But give a thumbs up to perversion? THAT would be a perversion.
Of course, the brave and caring Muslim men are wise enough to make sure that each young girl has her clitoris removed so that she will never be tempted to defy Allah and commit adultery.
Let the mall “out” themselves as a disgusting, fudge packing, excrement licking conglomerate. I’m sure they will be just fine at the brown julius.
No. During the Christmas holidays, they go from being happy to merry. Never gay.
Indeed! In a normal America, the only reasons for being banned from a mall would be shoplifting and disturbing the peace. But America today is far from normal, in fact it’s getting downright queer!/s;)
Amen, and I’m sick and tired of people trying to force society to condone deviant behavior. If Christiansfolks don’t stand up for what is right now, they are going to find themselves behind a fence at a re-education camp in the future. This imposition of one set of beliefs on everyone will not stop until people are no longer willing to be cowed by militant groups.
