President Obama tops Republican Mitt Romney in a head-to-head matchup, according to the latest Fox News poll, which finds American voters feeling more positive about the economy.

Obama would have an advantage of 46 percent to 39 percent over Romney, if the election were held today. Three weeks ago the candidates were tied at 46 percent each.

The national poll, released Wednesday, shows the president’s lead is just outside the poll’s margin of sampling error.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 913 randomly-chosen registered voters nationwide

Registered voters, not likely voters.

If I recall Fox isn’t the most accurate.
But polls this early before either convention are worth squat other then overall POTUS approval of which Bamster’s is in the crap side of things.

And what are the internals? Too many Dems relative to the actual percentages in the voting population no doubt.

We have a situation where there are two candidates making a race to the bottom.

If you sample REGISTERED VOTERS you will find their popularity numbers tallying significantly less than 100%. At the same time the margin of error is increasing with each poll.

What that means is quite obvious ~ that more and more folks otherwise adherents of both major parties are showing less and less interest in either candidate.

The one yesterday gave Obama as low as 39% and Romney 42%! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!

If you simply post the results of "Probable voters" you'll never see the race to the bottom. TALLY the two candidate's percentages and they'll be pretty close to 100% ~ rather than 81%.

I think it would be a good idea to cover the most recent Registered Voter Poll simultaneously with the most recent Probable Voter Poll so that we get a truer idea of how the two compare and contrast with each other as well as how they are being accepted/rejected in the most general sense.

If this race to the bottom continues you'll see the combined Obama and Romney popularity falling below 50% ~ which will presumably happen BEFORE the convention thereby giving Romney a chance to back out gracefully and give a Conservative a shot at rejuvenating a dying Presidential election.

At most, this poll might indicate that the relentless negative media attack is taking its intended toll on Romney. Obama stays at 46 %.

The poll is definitely BS. A week ago had 46% with Obama and Romney but suddenly Romney drops 7% with the gay week Obama had?

Poll question: “Now that the economy is doing very well, and we have finally turned the budget deficit into a surplus, would you consider voting for Obama rather than the bully Romney who has a history of beating up gays?”

Sorry, but this poll is utter and complete B.S.! Let me guess, his support of Gay Marriage must have been the event that caused this surge in support?

Again, I call Bull Sh*t!

Or perhaps it was "Dr." Mark Hill, a frequent guest of BOR. What he is a "doctor" of, I have no idea.

All these “polls” are bunk. There’s only one poll that matters, and that’s the one on election day.

Romney leads among independents by 5 and Obama leads overall by 7? This is only possible if democrats are being over sampled by a large margin. Really large.
