| Milwaukee residents will have the chance to cast absentee ballots in person during evening hours and on Memorial Day weekend, the city Election Commission announced Wednesday.

In advance of the June 5 gubernatorial recall election, the city will start absentee voting Monday at the Zeidler Municipal Building, 841 N. Broadway. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through May 25, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 26, noon to 4 p.m. May 27, 9 a.m. to noon Memorial Day, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 29-31 and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 1.

Sue Edman, the commission's executive director, said she extended voting hours after requests from voters, and after learning that Madison was also extending its absentee voting hours. She noted that staying open for partial days on the Sunday and Monday of the holiday weekend would be about the same as staying open for a full day if that Monday was not Memorial Day

This should present the commie union pigs with a lot of great opportunities to make sure the “election” comes out the way that they want it to. I hate living in a communist police state.

Some Milwaukee suburban communities are only allowing early voting 4 days a week due to staffing/furlough restrictions.

Personally I see nothing wrong with Milwaukee being open on the weekend. Especially given the centralized location of the activity. It’s not like they’re opening 100 street corner polling places.

In other news, traffic will be rerouted this holiday weekend around Milwaukee City Hall due to needed bus parking for Acorn and the SEIU folks from Illinois up here to enjoy our fair city’s hospitality.
