For the first time in U.S. history, whites of European ancestry account for less than half of newborn children, marking a demographic tipping point that is already changing the nation's politics, economy and workforce.
Among the roughly four million children born in the U.S. between July 2010 and July 2011, 50.4% belonged to a racial or ethnic group that in previous generations would have classified them as minorities, up from 48.6% in the same period two years earlier, the Census Bureau said Thursday. That was the first 12-month stretch in which non-Hispanic white children accounted for less than half the country's births.

Anyone who really believes the government telling us that there are only 12 million illegals in this country needs to be riding in the short yellow bus.
More whites are required to work so that those on welfare can continue to procreate and pop out kids. White men such as myself are in the dubious position of having to work, pay taxes, pay my mortgage and bills, and then find time to have children. The “minorities” seem content procreating with little regard for the welfare of the child, so realistically, this report isn’t saying anything more than minorities are procreating at a faster rate than whites.
Minorities also tend to be incarcerated more and involved in more murders than whites, so the scales likely balance out over the span of decades.

Clearly. Part of it is accounted for simply by the fact that whites *are* reproducing at a slower rt than other groups, and slower than in the past. IMO a five per cent share decline in white births within six yrs is dramatic. We're heading into JC Penney stock territory. I'll leave it to the sociologists to account for the drop-off, but it the answer is surely complex and to some extent predictable, I know that much.
In 50 years (or maybe less) the US will have become a Third World nation...all thanks to the immigration policies of the Rat Party,led by the likes of Ted Kennedy.

Large proportion of Asians and Hispanics are assimilated to the mainstream American culture. Thus, they are not “minorities” in any meaningful way.
You could have done the same graphics years ago, including Italians and Greeks as “minorities,” and gotten the same kind of result.
You say that jokingly, but you are exactly right. Probably, the proportion is significant, and therefore, the data are meaningless.
The State has bought the new majority with the old majority's money.
Reform the social spending policies that reward poor, illiterate and largely illegal and watch the demographics quickly re-adjust.

I blame the feminist movement, personally. More women working into their 30s and pushing their biological clocks further and further. When they do have babies, they have one, maybe two. Three-plus-child households are rare among whites.
Then there’s the media pushing this fake image of beauty, women become self-conscious and don’t want to have babies in fear of going all “fun house mirror.”
Meanwhile, those who do have babies young find out how difficult it is to raise a child with a lower income and don’t want to have another until they are “established.”
It’s become impossible to raise a child in a single-income household and still hold on to this ideal that life is all sunshine and butterflies. Reality is a cruel mistress, but minorities don’t care about that; many are content with sucking on the public teat.

What are Hispanics, but an artificially concocted ‘minority’ ethnic group that consist in large part of white Europeans of Spanish and sometimes Portuguese ancestry. If these “white Hispanics”, e.g. the Cameron Diazs or Ken Salazars, are included, then what happens to the numbers?
Additionally, at what point do mixed-race individuals become “white”? My infant son is 3/4 white, 1/4 Korean. Was he a white birth or a minority birth?
What happens to minority births when the middle class is unable to pay for any further welfare subsidies, and minority moms are informed that any kids they produce will have to be fed with what the moms earn themselves.

Not if they reject leftist ideology. That's determined by culture values, not racial identity, and those can be shaped. It doesn't have to be the way. This is our biggest cultural battle, to slay the forces of socialism by leading through example. But, if we fail in that, yeah, we're toast. I think that's why this election is so important. What does Obama have planned in four years where he doesn't have to misdirect/lie/subvert our constitutional values with another election looming? He'll appt another SC Justice, and then watch out.
It’s a choice, because we want to provide our children with the best opportunity to advance in the world. We want our children to be our betters. We have 1-3 children, because that’s all that we can afford to support and maintain an adequate lifestyle.
Which makes me think: do these environmental whackos who think the world is overpopulated ever consider who is doing the actual overpopulation? White women are too busy working to have children. Plus, it’s a lot of work to have and raise children and a sacrifice on one’s personal time. It’s so much easier going to Starbucks and kibbitzing with friends while drinking lattes, going shoppping, watching movies, talking on the cellphone, and blaming your problems on everyone else.

Ummm...for the most part, new Hispanics are Mexican. Poor Mexicans. With the values of poor people in Mexico who are suddenly being given money by their friends in the government.

People that live in “whitelandia” include Europeans, middle easterners, Asians, Indians- both Asian and American and even some middle class blacks. All intermingle and marry - especially Asians and Europeans. So “white culture” may darken but will grow in America in numbers.
Maybe we can expand the deal to include Saskatchewan.
