Michael J. Fox, whose turn from Parkinson’s disease patient to scientific crusader made him one of the country’s most visible advocates for stem cell research, now believes the controversial therapy may not ultimately yield a cure for his disease, he told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview.
There have been “problems along the way,” Fox said of stem cell studies, for which he has long advocated. Instead, he said, new drug therapies are showing real promise and are “closer today” to providing a cure for Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative illness that over time causes the body to become rigid and the brain to shut down.
“Stem cells are an avenue of research that we’ve pursued and continue to pursue but it’s part of a broad portfolio of things that we look at. There have been some issues with stem cells, some problems along the way,” said Fox, who suffers from the diseases’ telltale tics and tremors.
“It’s not so much that [stem cell research has] diminished in its prospects for breakthroughs as much as it’s the other avenues of research have grown and multiplied and become as much or more promising. So, an answer may come from stem cell research but it’s more than likely to come from another area,” he said.

Again and again we see these idiots on the left, who have another agenda get on the band wagon for some far out cause that does not have a basis in any facts of any kind. They are able to get the brain dead college students to rally around and demonstrate for the ‘cause’ only to have again and again to have their cause fail.
I wish someone would make a list of the issues and causes that have died out like alar, ozone, man made global warming, because they did not have a factual basis to begin with.
I agree that drugs are effective. Been on a drug therapy for Parkinson’s for the last year, controls the tremors effectively. But there are still bad days that catch up with me. At the same time, while I am dealing with the disease, I do not want therapies that are dependent on other’s deaths for my cure.
Actually there is some great stuff happening with Stem cell treatments.
But such doesn't fit the liberal "meme" because the stem cell stuff that is working is from ADULT stem cells. But see if you use ADULT stem cells for a cure it can't be used by the left as an excuse to kill babies...
So we shouldn't talk about ADULT stem cell success because that would be a waste of time for the MSM.

The problem with using fetal stem cells is that they partially undifrentiated which means that theoretically they could lodge themselves somewhere in a person’s body and begin developing as an organ or something, most liekly a tumor or maybe even worse start developing as a full fledged fetus in some confined space like a ribcage or inside your skull.
Not to mention the issue with histocompatibility and tissue rejection that could crop up if the cells decide to diffentiate and then the patient’s immune system kicks in and next thing they have what amounts to an autoimmune disease.
Adult stem cells from your own body are the best option!
One idea is to build a bioreactor with adult stems cells from your own body a “neo-organ” that can be implanted with adult stems cells that constantly replenishes your body with fresh stem cells and helps remove the defective stems cells that could be associated with aging and other disorders that are age related.
I'm sure you made the stem cell folks (and I'm pretty certain they're the embyonic folks) smile when they picked up their big fat check.

Fox listened to lying leftists, and it has sure taken a long time for him to figure out that he’d been BS’d for political reasons. All the evidence about the failure of fetal stem cell research has been there for all but the blind to see for many years.
