Back in the mid-1990s, I lived in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. My wife was a medical student at the University of Chicago and I worked as a newspaper reporter.
I didn't know it, but also living in Hyde Park a few blocks away was a fellow just a couple years older than me named Barack Obama. At the time, he was a part-time lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, and I'm sure that at one time or another we crossed paths. I had no idea who he was, and unless he was a regular reader of the Chicago Daily Southtown, I'm pretty certain he had no idea who I was.

I can speak of what she was like to work with and how she generated material. In my dealings with Dystel, I found her exceptionally thorough and very professional. She had a template she wanted non-fiction writers to follow, and my writing partner and I followed her template closely. She was rather fastidious, going so far as to mail a personal "Season's Greetings" card in December.
All material she used in our proposals came directly from me and my writing partner. She edited our rough-draft proposals and gave us feedback, but the final versions were all ours. Our final versions, bio included, were then simply photo-copied, by us, and distributed to potential publishers. This was back in the pre-Google days, recall.
I was asked to write the bio in the third person.

It’s actually a valid point made during the original story thread. Publishing companies obtain their biographical information for liner notes and such entirely from the author. Therefore “born in kenya” came directly from Obama. Ain’t rocket science.
Again- I say it is very important that people don’t jump on the “birthed” wagon due to Breitbart’s latest revelations.
It seems obvious to me that the Breitbart staff has a different motive. I believe they will prove that Obama had chosen to use “foreign student status” to his advantage to gain entrance into Harvard Law School. I also believe rotten grades at Columbia were the reason he could not get in on his own merits.
It seems likely to me that Breitbart has probably obtained proof of Obama lying to get into college and will dribble this information out over the next few months. The obvious result being, if Obama lied to get into Harvard, he will lie about anything.
I believe it is incumbent upon us at FR to not make wide, reckless statements about all recent laws being nullified, Hillary coming in to take over as the candidate, etc. Statements like this make us look foolish and ineffectual.
Let’s stick to the facts as they are released. Breitbart was adamant about not claiming Obama was actually born in Kenya. Let’s see what he has.
All of this, just the opinion of a Jew who doesn’t know anything.

I think Breitbard made his statements to give hmiself cover that he wasn’t truly a “birther.” However, he was in constant contact with Sheriff Arpaio in the time leading up to the disclosure of the results from the Posse.
He certainly knew that several biographically-related documents were forged. He also was probably aware of the testimony from the Ayers’ postman about the foreign student which they sponsored. There’s probably more that Sheriff Joe has held in reserve.
I think that the most that Breitbart wasned to say was something like “there’s a lot of documents out there with different stories, some of which say he is a Kenyan, some not.” However, I have to believe that, at heart, Breitbart truly had a very strong suspicion that Obama was born in Kenya, he just wanted to avoid ridicule as much as possible.
Either BHO was born in Kenya, in which case he is a massive fraud, or he was born in Hawaii, and was just claiming to have been born in Kenya because he thought it gave him counterculture cred, in which case he is a massive fraud.
“I’m Barack Obama and I approved this bio.”
The “fact-checking error” remained on their website for 16 years — until 2007 when, I’m sure just coincidentally, it disappeared.
Aw, he was just trying to spice it up a bit - it was rettrick, thats all.
On odd days, he is his father's son and born in Kenya.
On even days, he is his mother's son and born in Hawaii.
Just fantasizing......what if Breitbart got a copy of Barack’s original book “Lying Through Black & White” or whatever it’s called, to find that Obama had written in the book he was born in Kenya?
Wouldn’t that be rich? Whether he was or not, it would be awesome.

The lesson boys and girls: if you lie then it is ok. We won’t do anything about it? See, even the President is a big fat lier and nothing bad will come of it.

It’s one or the other. Honestly, at this stage, I actually think he was lying then in order to hang on to the “foreign student” mystique and narrative.
But either way, this is going to play out and hurt obama.....

it is possible they had the original bio submitted by obama until at least 2007. if they still have it now by some miracle they should be in fear for their lives.

to anyone who remembers the pre-internet era, it is blatantly obvious this could only have come from obama himself. publisher doesn’t care who the guy is or wahtever, just write a bio and send it in.

Where did you get that from? Sheriff Joe said they talked on the phone one time just before Andrew died, and Joe didn’t even realize exactly who Breitbart was at the time, even though he said he later remembered they had met previously. That doesn’t sound like “constant contact” to me.
I AM a published author (St. Martin’s). The bio on my book was submitted to my agent. It then went on the book jacket word for word the way I had written it.
Look let keep in simple..he may or may not been born in Kenya...but he has been presented as being born in Kenya when it was seen as and advantage..so either way he or people representing him lie as needed ....and it also make the birth certificate legitimate to question and his school records (did he claim he was foreign born for advantage) because of this history of lies
And who assumes for a second that the Narcissist in Chief didn't EVER google his own name and see his “Bio”? He no doubt wanted to be “Kenyan” when he thought there might be benefit in it for him.
That being said - the literary bio from his publisher says he was born in Kenya - but the books they published for him said different.

If this were, say, Bobby Jindal, can you IMAGINE what the news cycles would be like? 24/7 breathless coverage, people camped out on the agent’s lawn.

I have been SCREAMING about this for the last year two years off and on here at FR, and no one seemed to think it was as important as the BC. It is nice to know I have validation!

It is not the fact that he may or not be born in Kenya, but the coverup/distortions over the years of him using this for his advantage and then the reversal when the DNC power elite chose him for POTUS nominee.

In some ways, it may be even more involved than you present: Obama knows where he was born, but Obama doesn’t know if Breitbart knows where he was born. And Obama knows what he told Harvard Law, but he doesn’t know if Breitbart knows what he told his various educational enablers. And the Breitbart folks have shown that they know how to play their cards, as they demonstrated with the Acorn expose.
So Obama and his minions will have to calibrate their lies more and more carefully as they go along, as they’ll never know (until it’s too late) what the Breitbart folks are sitting on.
Breitbart lives.
Freepers have found over a dozen articles stating Obama was born in Kenya. (Have found two personally). Breitbart is using the “Born in HI” as a brier-patch meme. It’s a comedy technique. It will become a joke after he releases another, another and another and yet another article/paper trail (each with the BO insistance that he was born in HI)
Looks at the Alinsky rules (Breitbart thought like a liberal)...It fits in and will eventually show that BO used the “born in Africa” to his advantage up until 2007. (It continued in Africa and Indonesia well into 2008.)
Eventually “Is He lying now or was he lying then?” will be the topic at the office water coolers.
All media should be asking:
“IS HE LYING NOW OR WAS HE LYING THEN”
They won’t! It won’t, however, stop the AM people from asking.
