A Northern Jutland daughter was stunned but had to accept a decision by a Lutheran vicar in North Jutland, who refused to bury her 74-year-old mother because she had lived in a lesbian relationship.
I thought can this really be possible that we have to be ashamed? I looked at my mothers partner and she was silent. I was upset for her. What a terrible situation to put her in, Kirsten Østergaard told DR1.
The mothers partner was 80 years old and the couple had lived in a registered partnership for some 20 years.
The Aalborg diocese vicar has since following a family complaint to the diocesan dean - regretted his decision.
I made an exceptional mistake. The biggest mistake I have ever made in my time as a vicar. It was a gaffe and short-circuit of dimensions and completely against what I believe in, the vicar says.
His decision, he says, was made because as he did not want to marry homosexuals, he thought it was perhaps wrong to bury homosexual people.
But it was a completely wrong conclusion. I have asked for forgiveness, initially from two of the family, the vicar tells DR.
The apology, however, is not one that Kirsten Østergaard values much.
What use is that to me? This is about his views about humanity, and I dont think those have changed. He has probably regretted it, but not because of us rather because he has put himself in a very bad light, Østergaard tells DR.
It’s just evil exposed to the Light. You can fight it, and whine and carry on. But those are the rules, and whining is not going to change them.
Go find some drunk on the street corner to tell you how great she was.
A 74 year old lesbian and an 80 year old lesbian......man....there’s some hot lesbian sex there.....”Help! My boobs have fallen and they can’t get up!”.....”For only $8 a month, you can join the BoobAlert Protection Plan! Just press your BoobAlert button, and we’ll send out a tow truck to pick those babies up off the floor! *$10 in Massachusetts because they have bigger boobs there.”
Seems like the old lady was not much interested in what the church had to say while she was alive - I wonder then why they would be interested in having a church funeral. Or is this one of those ‘Set ‘em up and knock ‘em down’ things were liberals intentionally force an issue to get others onside with their touchy/feely crap.
LMAOF This is absolute classic.
Imagine Michael Palin as the vicar, and Patsy and Edina as the seasoned lesbians.
Definitely intended to create trouble. Imagine if this vicar had gone into a gay bar and asked to preach there against homosexuality, then when told “no”, to act outraged.
How does homosexual burial differ from.... uh.. on second thought, I don’t really want to know.
This is fishy.
My grandparents’ Lutheran church wouldn’t go for it. It’s the LCMS.
Help! My boobs have fallen and they cant get up!
