Romney Is Wrong on Wright
American Thinker ^ | Saturday May 19, 2012 | Karin McQuillan

Posted on 05/19/2012 12:29:28 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

According to the Times, the Romney team has decided not to assail Obama's "likability," for fear personal attacks will backfire with independents.

Message to the Republican establishment:  do not muzzle those of us who want to focus on Obama's troubling history with angry Marxists, black and white, including Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers.   This is not about race.  It is about knowing who Obama is, understanding what he has already done to our country, and what he is capable of doing.

The issue of Rev erend Wright is not peripheral, it is central.  It gets to the heart of the differences between conservative and progressive views.  Democrats have won on the field of character assassination -- they have defamed and destroyed respect not simply for Republican candidates, but for all Republican voters.  When Republican party leaders refuse to inform the public about the hateful, radical character of the liberal/progressive agenda for America -- so visible in Wright and Obama -- we are hobbling ourselves, and we will lose the bigger fight, which is about identity, core beliefs and values.

[....]

We're not supposed to investigate who President Obama is by looking at the people whose advice he sought and beliefs he respected, the people he hired and the people who hired him.  Instead, we're supposed to kowtow to false and despicable accusations of racism against Republicans.

We're not allowed to comment on the behavior of someone if his skin color is black?  I find that racist.  I prefer to see all men as equal.  How can you have a fair election contest with a black candidate under those conditions, where only the white candidate can be vetted?    I want a media that vets Obama as thoroughly as they vet Romney.

I can’t remember his name but he has a very fat blonde daughter with a big mouth.

Excuse me, not to put to fine a point on it, but I believe the young lass in question was calorically-challenged with a propensity to share.

Most everyone is missing the point here. Romney is vulnerable on his psuedo Christian Mormonism. Romney staying on the down-low with Rev. Wright might sideline his Mormon issues to some extent with BHO. If not, he can always surrepticiously unleash the superpacs with the ‘Wright Stuff’. Smart move, not set in stone.

Barack can always out-Christian Romney Mormonism with tons of black Christian pastors vouching and stumping for him!
Romney is smart not to play the ‘Christian card’ if he can avoid it!

And this is another reason why the GOP-e and RINOmney will lose. Wading around in the shallow end of the pool making sure to tell everyone what a "nice guy" Obama is while the DNC is putting 5 hatchets in your back. Moderates don't listen to conservative talk radio. Many of them have only skimmed the surface of things like this. Romney (as expected) COMPLETELY capitulated to the Left here. And what happened? He ended up throwing conservatives under the bus. Big win for Chicago here.

In 21 National polls Romney is only leading in 4, how's his strategy working out for him?

Have we learned nothing from 2008? Since we have a big liberal wimp as our nominee again, apparently not.

I agree. FR lately is full of little geniuses who think the business of politics began when they started paying attention. One bottom line truth most weenies here have never heard of: "Timing is everything." Here's another: "Dance with who brung you." Here's another: "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

We got people here who think the cold-eyed, heartless Bain "vulture capitalist" Romney is too timid to stick the knife when and where it will do the most good? That is a sign of stupidity and ignorance.

The attribution to the usual tired, futile beltway consultants rings false to me. Anyone who wants to take turds like Steve Schmidt at his word, please line up outside and wait for further instructions. If Romney thought losers like him and Karl Rove had anything to offer, he'd have hired them by now.

The "Times" said it... and you believe it. What're you going to suck down next?

Once there was a time when freepers looked askance at "news" sources like the Slimes. Now they just slurp and grin and ask for more. 'Scusting.

Barack Obama Sr. had 3 wives at the same time, so I doubt that the Marxists will go there. Bob

Maybe I'm the only one who paid attention to the other times the apparently ruthless Romney ran for office, the way he campaigns, and how he governed the 1 time he did actually win. Remember how he twisted Ted Kennedy's arm until he said uncle? Neither do I.

Clearly you haven’t read my posts. I can’t stand Romney and I doubt I am going to vote for him, but he is a nasty SOB that would say/do anything to be president and I do not see him rolling over.

Oh, I have no doubts he will govern as a liberal, but his campaign will be ruthless. Either he isn’t at the point where he needs to bring Wright, which may be the case because noboby is paying attention, or his research says it won’t help him. I do think Romney is to the left of McCain, but his campaign isn’t going to roll over like McCain’s. Romney would crawl over burning coals to be president.
