Gingrich to Georgia GOP: Let's rally around Romney
The Florida Times Union ^ | May 19, 2012 | Errin Haines

Newt Gingrich took the stage at the Georgia Republican Party state convention on Saturday wearing a Mitt Romney sticker, focusing his attacks on President Barack Obama and attempting to energize the crowd around his former Republican rival.

"To every conservative, everywhere in America: When your choice on the one hand is Barack Obama, and your choice on the other hand is Mitt Romney, no serious conservative could possibly believe that electing Barack Obama is acceptable ... for America."

Wrong.

30 million will stay home, who is going to get those votes?

First off, the TrueBlie ABO gluesniffers need to stop trying to tell people how to vote. JimRob already declared himself none of the above and tried a truce and the ABO’s continue to try this crap.

NOBODY buys it

“He’s not Obama”

Is that really all you have? Is that really the ONLY freaking argument left? Neither is Hoefling or Goode, their not Obama either.

Romney is too liberal for my vote. I would not vote for Romney if he were the ONLY candidate on the ballot. I’ll stay home first.

The Republican Party can go to hell for all I care, thery certainly do seem to be trying hard to get there. I’m not going to stop them.

The argument that Romney is somehow entitled to my, or anyones, vote is WRONG. It is offensive to the extreme. If Romney cannot get the vote out, it is his own dang fault.

You hear that gluesniffers?

It is not MY responsibility to vote for the loser, it is HIS responsibility to EARN my vote. If he loses it his own fault for not attracting the votes. Disagree? Not possible. I have no responsibility to cast a vote for anyone who hasn’t given me a good enough reason.

Mitt Romney doesn’t HAVE to lose in November, but if he is to win, he is going to have to take the fight to Obama, and it won’t be all sweet reason and logic, or even money, that will carry the case for a Republican win (I don’t say “victory”, as that is an entirely different concept).

The ship has sailed for anyone expecting a victory this fall, but nobody has ever won by playing defense. The establishment Republicans have to be compelled, if that is what it takes, to get up off their collective duffs and WORK for a win here, and that includes swallowing their distaste for getting their hands dirty and at least trying to SOUND sincere.

The recent primary win in Indiana over the most “moderate” Republican in the US Senate, Dick Luger, should convince even the more reticent of other “moderates” that their own base is no longer a slam dunk for them. And surprise, surprise, there is a large part of the “non-partisan” middle that is looking for just that show of backbone by the national Republicans. They respect principle, really they do.

I am for crushing the left too, but Romney is one of them that would have to be crushed

“Seriously, Romney can’t win. ... The man’s thoughts are so alien to ours he’s just not going to be understood.”

Obama, on the other hand, is your soulmate, right?

So let’s suppress the Romney vote to make sure Obama gets four more years.

Great “conservative” plan.

AMEN! Preach it brother.

I cannot and will not vote for someone that is so fundamentally against my beliefs.

I believe in the sanctity of life from conception. I believe that every human has a God-given right to self defense. I believe government is NOT the solution, that it is the problem.

I can't vote for Romney. His record shows what he is.

That sounds almost like the same tone, liberals trying to avoid discussing facts, use when they sneer: "teabaggers".

Just saying.

You are sure missing the point.

Your boy can't win and others can. Your boy owes it to America to just step aside.

That's the only way we can beat Obama.

WADR, you seem to be going out of your way to anger conservatives. I would like to know how that would help your candidate get elected this November? Frankly, silence on the matter would indeed get the “hold your nose and vote against Obama” crowd out more than such remonstrations. The outstanding question post-election though (assuming a Romney win) is just how the agenda of the left will be stopped now that yet another left-supporting candidate has been voted into the most powerful office in the land. Got an answer that does not involve pure rhetoric and is based on logic? The conservatives here (and across the USA) are very, very tired of pandering politicians, having voted for them decade after decade and seeing the country continue to unabatedly shift further and further left—a move not solely due to Obama, but a concerted effort by a lot of openly-left-wing Democrats and a lot of lying Republicans who pretend to be against it.

There aren't any conservatives running that can win the general election at this point. The GOP has trashed all of them, or changed the rules, or played dirty tricks.

So it doesn't really matter who wins. Liberals or Liberals. That's your choice.

It doesn’t make Newt an evil one because many of us know that his position requires this kind of thing. However, it probably makes him physically ill to do it.

The candidate is responsible for attracting the voters, it is a tyrannical idea that a candidate is somehow entitled to votes and that the voter should be blamed for not liking the “right” guy.

I call them that for a good reason. They are some of the most hateful people online. We should have a Dummie Funnies version just for them.

Your fear is that obama will win a second term, right?

There is no way obama will be reelected. Not gonna happen.

Mitt Romney or anyone else who runs against him will beat obama.

I won't be too surprised if obama isn't the demonrat's candidate in November, but if he is, he'll lose.

If they run someone else, then Romney might have some trouble, but not against obama.

No one is suppressing the Romney vote, most of us anti-Romney FReepers gave up a long time ago telling people how to vote, because there is no-one worth voting for. It is the pro-Romneys who are trying to cajole and assail those who don’t fall into line.

They just don’t have any good arguments.

I explained and showed Romney's positions to my brother's family and they didn't realize how much of a socialist he is.

His documented pro-abortion stance cost 5 votes for him.

They can't vote for pro-aborts either.
