President Barack Obama’s embrace of same-sex marriage was a major moment for gay-rights advocates — historic, emotional, a cause for celebration and more praise for an administration with a strong record on these issues.
But they’re already starting to ask what’s next.
There’s no shortage of items on the wish list: Repealing the Defense of Marriage Act. Extending Social Security benefits for gay partners. Changing regulations on deporting immigrants in same-sex marriages.
There’s the one that’s sparked the most anger and confusion because it’s seen as an easy fix — an executive order banning LGBT workplace discrimination.
There’s a new one after a House vote Wednesday, when Republicans blocked LGBT protections in the Violence Against Women Act. There are upcoming votes to legalize gay marriage in Maine, Maryland and Washington.

First contraception, and now homosexual "marriage," have separated marriage from the marital act. This step is logical, given the unnatural and irrational assumptions.

In primitive societies you might have a polygamous system, where the wealthy/powerful take multiple wives. If the losers can satisfy themselves with homosexuality, then you have less strife.
Affirmative action and mandatory quotas for gays in employment and government contracts.
Departments of Gay Studies and Gay History in colleges.
Mandatory loans to gay businesses and individuals as part of Community Development.
Lots of law suits charging discrimination against gays - particularly on the part of religious institutions.
Wholesale revision of government and classroom texts that refer to a husband as male or a wife as female.
Revision of classroom texts to include the historical contributions of gays - in a positive way, of course.
A special postage stamp or special month to commemorate gay history.
Pedophilia is next... Watch and see.

The article uses this line to create "momentum" in the story, (i.e. Look at all the things positive happening towards homosexual marriage), but the truth is that these votes are to END homosexual marriage, not promote it.
Even in liberal Maryland, thousands are flocking to petition locations to get the ANTI-homosexual marriage amendment onto the ballot.

we're also thinking about children. but i have a condition that would require us to seek a surrogate father. but we love each other so much, i'm sure we can make it work.
of course, i would expect to house and feed all our dependents children, as i am a hard working man and dedicated father.
btw, as we expect a very large family... 2 or 3 hundred... how much can i get assistance will we receive if i come on hard times? $1k/mon per child? what about grandkids also living under my roof?
Of course they are, it was totally predictable. Once you change the very definition of "marriage", then what is stopping it from being changed again? Polygamy will be the next step. Nothing special about one man and one woman being a married couple; what is so special about the number of people involved. It's all about "love", and who are they hurting? After polygamy, I think we naturally move to group marriages. And, I would not dismiss codifying beastiality into the marriage code.
Because of this one change, all other changes will come and rapidly.
The psychiatric community is already renaming "pedophilia" to "intergenerational sex". This is to take away the judgemental nature of the word "pedophilia", and thus the beginning of "normalizing" adults having sex with children.
I wish to marry my mother as she is a widow and will have half her estate confiscated on her demise. I see marriage as a means to avoiding that unpleasantness.

Lady Gag has sung to us that they are “born that way”. Case closed, as far as liberals are concerned. We’re not allowed to ask what causes this condition, whether it’s “normal”, because liberals have decided we need to normalize this condition.
We can’t talk about whether it’s harmful, because it’s homophobic to talk about AIDS and other VD spread by homosexual behavior.
The liberals rules of speaking about issues makes it hard to even raise the questions about causes and issues with homosexual behavior.

It doesn’t really matter what’s next. Something will be next since the precedent has been set, and human nature is such that it is always pushing the envelope of behavior against limitations.
Somewhere, someone is planning the next redefinition of marriage. It’s not for us who oppose the initial redefinition - same sex - to predict what comes next. Someone is already taking care of it. Eventually, it may even get to the point that the same sex activists will see that any definition of marriage will ultimately be meaning less, and some of them might even oppose redefinition at some point. Too late.
That is their legacy. And it’s not accidental. It’s been a calculated assault from day one. Destroy the traditional foundations of society and you get to redefine society.
Next you will be able to have more than one: a same sex one and an opposite sex one. Won’t that be fun?
I haven’t followed this issue closely.
Has anyone brought up the “Mormon Connection?”
If several women love the same man, what plausible argument can now be made that the law should forbid polygamy?
