Also, let the superintendent know that Ms. Dixon-Nealy is a bully!

I respectfully disagree. This marxist teacher definitely needs a firing, a firing squad! (:>)

What does she teach?

It doesn't appear that she is teaching anything, as far as course content...the students will probably leave her class more ignorant than when they started.

But they will have gained respect for the importance of diversity and the need for affirmative action, and have learned that differences must be debated in a civil and respectful manner.

Was the little girl shoved by little Barack white, Christian &/or straight? If so, then the teacher is correct as it did not meet the definition of bullying.

Kid gets a D in respect for an elder. He gets a B for understanding the course material.

The teacher gets an F for understanding the course material, and a D for social skills.

Teacher should be fired for incompetency. Student should be commended, and apologised to by the principle in front of the student body.

I’m a teacher. Schools are little more than indoctrination camps. It’s becoming increasingly difficult keeping out that which you want kept out of the curriculum and teaching that which you want to teach, what you believe needs to be taught.

This is another of the many signs that we are becoming a full-on totalitarian police-state. The tendency for schools to stop teaching and start indoctrinating is one of the symptoms that speak about the disease.

By the way, I went to school in the late 60's and 70's ann although they tried hard to indoctrinate me (for example, about how the progressive tax was so 'fair'), I emerged briefly liberal (primarily about pot) and then quickly shifted to conservative (primarily about guns and taxes). So it didn't take.

With all the federal standardized testing, benchmarks, and standards, we have a de facto 'national curriculum' now. I spent 6 or 7 days over the course of the 2011-12 school year along with 13 other teachers from around the ISD for our grade level, writing social studies assessments for each of the 7 units in our grade level and had to align with the national standards. The social studies curriculum is on-line and every teacher in the state will be required to use it as their main text by the 13-14 school year I believe it is. This is K-12 curriculum. And this is being repeated in every state with every subject.

If this is not bad enough, I found this out from the head honcho of social studies of our ISD because he ran the "workshop": In our state, the only time the Constitution is studied in school is in 5th grade (one unit under U.S. Government) and again in the 8th grade. Another teacher and I were seemingly the only teachers concerned about the fact that the foundation of our country is taught in only two grades, 5th and 8th.

Willard should have gone to Juvie for what he did to the other kid.

Are you kidding me? Maybe in 2012; but not in 1969 (or whenever it's alleged to have happened.) Your Romney-hatred is causing you to write crazy stuff. High school pranks deserving court intervention is a liberal thing.

Do you really think cutting some kid's hair deserves criminal treatment? Can't wait for your response.

What an incredible waste of tax money & young minds. This woman is illiterate, ignorant, racially biased, & only fit to teach cheap wine drinking behind a dumpster. She was totally outclassed by a teenager!

"You not gonna disrespect the President. Romney is just a candidate - Obama is the PRESIDENT! Obama is the man!"

This is the garbage that passes for Social Studies in American schools?

We MUST outlaw teacher's unions, abolish tenure, & strictly evaluate teachers for competence. Teachers should have no more job security than anyone else in a free market. Additionally, we must outlaw any Federal involvement in education.

Powerful painting - but completely dependent upon an educated audience that understands the context.

I don't have kids yet, and I wonder if any FReinds with children know whether the horrors of the Soviet years are even taught in our public schools?

That's insane.

Even in Soviet Russia, their fake 'Constitution' was a big part of their curriculum.

Gov George Wallace ring a bell? John Birchers ring a bell? Some whites would be pissed if a minority moved into their neighborhood. Unfortunately, in the past conservatives had to deal with their fringes too. Good news is most conservatives have become Tea Party and frame their behavior within the Constitution/Bill of Rights. When I was young I started off as a liberal and Democrat, but I have left them because their social ideas and economic ideas do not work, and more important they have become more intolerant while the Conservatives have become more tolerant while the liberals became facist with PC.

“THAT TEACHER NEEDS TO BE FIRED..”

Why bother? The entire government school system is a factory for inculcating children with secular humanist thinking. For every government school teacher whose employment you terminate for outbursts caught on camera, there are probably 100 others who promote the same world view through stealth. One hundred percent of government school teachers are actively involved in a enterprise which undermines Christianity, family, church and individual liberty.

So the whole government school system needs to be fired.

“He should be ruthlessly vetted (this time),...”

A little off topic re the posting, but I thought it was interesting when Rev. Wright told Ed Klein that Obama doesn’t consider himself an American but, rather, “a child of the world” — or similar verbiage. WHEN will the truth get to all citizens instead of just those of us who pay attention?

“That must be a ‘thing’, now. I see it everywhere.”

And my pet peeve is people saying things like “me and my mom” insead of “my mom and I”; or “me and her” instead of “she and I”. Like nails on a chalkboard! And it’s everywhere — news anchors, ads by major corporations, TV shows. arrrrgh!!

My husband was apolitical until he went to Berkeley. He noticed that the smart students in hard sciences who studied continually were conservatives. The idiots studying sociology, etc.. and never did the hard work were liberals.

Well, things like that can be explained away by the language changing over time. An English professor I did some work for a while back told me that some of the things that bugged me were an evolution of the language, such as ending sentences with prepositions. EVERYONE does that, now. I cringe every time I hear "Where you at?".

It doesn't matter, though. In another hundred years, American English will be a mishmash of English and Spanish. "Spanglish", I think they call it.

Not at all, O great font of wisdom. Your original comments told me you were a slam dunk affirmative, get off the dead butt and shuffle out to immediately cast a vote for obama. At least once, from the sound of your verbal effluvium.

So I was wrong. You’re apparently just going to sit it out. So my vote will do even more for whomever is the republican nominee, while you sit home and bleat.

The nation needs losers like you, those who sit on the sidelines and whine, then expect to have a say after passing on your opportunity to say it.

But you’re not an idiot. An idiot has a low IQ. You’re maybe a prune danish, or a doorknob. IQ so low, it’s not measurable.
