A 60-year-old man out for his morning jog in a quiet suburb of Kansas City was gunned down in a drive-by shooting that appears to be a purely random murder.
It has been one week since someone in a passing car fired a single shot that struck Harry Stone. The car never slowed down and the driver continued speeding along, leaving Mr Stone to die on the side of the road in Raytown, Missouri.
A law enforcement task force convened in the wake of the shooting suggested the killing could be some kind of gang initiation.
However, police in the city of 29,000 people have ruled out that possibility.

A city of 29K is too big for me. I never want to live in a town of more than 10K if I can help it.
I now live in small town 7K and that is almost too big for my comfort. I am just out side of the Cleveland, OH metro area and although there are a lot of conveniences of living in a metro area, I will gladly give them up when I retire to get away from traffic and the drama of these concentrated busybodies.

According to one local source, the victim said he was shot by a black before he died. This seems a case of jogging while white.
But .. but ... Hollywood told us that this is a “really cool gang initiation”.
Probably not random. The poor guy met the profile...harmless, unarmed, white. This reminds me of the Zebra killings in SF, and I bet it’s not going to be the last of them unless the police in KC get busy right now.
One of the comments on the Daily Mail site was from “Kansas City Girl”, who said she/he resided in Kansas City, who said: “There are plenty of enemies of Mr. Stone.”
I don't see how you can escape the influence of "big city" when you are just outside any metro area, regardless of the population of your little town. Here, in my part of the west it is 30 - 50 miles or so between small towns with no big cities at all. And even so, big city liberal influence is creeping in (they had their first queer parade a while back). Anyway, good luck and I hope you can get as far as possible from the big city.

If this man told a witness a black man shot him, there’s a strong possibility he might have had prior verbal confrontation with him while out jogging.. Perhaps in a cross walk or on a corner. It’s entirely possible this was random with all the ‘justice for Trayvon’ cr@p going on but prior verbal run-in is possible too.

It’s easier to kill someone who is jogging along, minding their own business, if you make them stop first.

My point is, there might be witnesses to the prior verbal confrontation if there was one.. And I’m NOT saying violence is the proper response to a verbal confrontation!
I always had a feeling that MLK never believed in his own dream — he was a realist.
I do volunteer work for an assistance ministry and, based on my perception of the people we help, MLK’s dream will, at best, remain a dream and, at worst, turn into a nightmare.

Well... at one time it was. Like Independence, which used to be God's Country and home of the RLDS.
Of course, Independence is now the METH capital of Missouri, and Raytown is turning into Detroit.
Kansas City is the center for incoming illegal immigrants, due to it being the CROSSROADS of the entire US (a major transportation hub).
Then there is Kansas City, Kansas (known to locals as Wyandotte County), which is mostly made up of immigrants and the East Bottoms (trucking and manufacturing industries, and warehouses).
And I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know.

Actually RAYTOWN was originally a Military Base (airbase). Part of what is now 350 Highway used to be the runway. Many of the houses were originally military housing.
Well... if she resided in 'Kansas City', it is highly unlikely she even knew Harry Stone.
Now if her 'name' was RAYTOWN GIRL, I would lend more credence to her comment. My guess is that KANSAS CITY GIRL is some black chick supportin' her homies.
If Harry Stone had any enemies, it would be young black thugs with guns. Harry was very active in the 'church' (lookup his wife's occupation), and a 'good citizen' of Raytown (God's country - invaded by uneducated and racist minorities).
If KCGIRL knows so much, ask her who RAYTOWN is named after.
After watching the surveillance video, and reading the witness statements, it was four young thugs with guns who were obviously of the 'black' culture who leaned out the windows of the car as they were driving by, yelling racial epithets, and fired multiple rounds at Harry Stone because he was 'white' and an 'easy target' (which is what most punks go after).
Yeah... especially if you are a hardened criminal or drug addict and leave your yard and house full of trash, bringing down the value of the whole neighborhood.

Sorry... but white people who jog in Raytown KNOW that you never confront or yell at a car with four young 'black' thugs, mainly because you can be SURE they are ARMED and itching for some 'bragging rights' at Raytown High School, or maybe SouthEast High School.
No there isn't. It is actually highly unlikely.
What is MOST LIKELY is that they were driving around looking for a victim, and saw Harry jogging (it was 6am. What was a group of four young 'thugs' doing at 6am? Looking for jobs?). So they paralleled him going past the gas station and shot him while they were on a road that had quick access to major highways (and a straight shot back to the 'hood'. Probably somewhere off Blue Parkway).
Well, none have come forward, and in the time Harry was jogging past the gas station, a vehicle could have driven two miles.
If there HAD been a 'verbal confrontation', Harry would have been shot right then and there. That is how this works. Imagine 'disrespect' and then kill the source of it. They SHOT him because it was an EASY TARGET, the streets were mostly EMPTY, and they had Access to major highways two blocks away.
