A tree-trimming company based in Houston reached a $2 million settlement agreement with the Department of Homeland Security that will allow it to avoid criminal prosecution for hiring illegal immigrants, officials announced Friday.

The agreement capped an investigation into ABC Professional Tree Services Inc. that dates to early 2008, when Homeland Security Investigations agents in Alabama were tipped off that the company was hiring illegal immigrants.

The company, which trims trees and vegetation for electric utilities in more than a dozen states, made about $2 million between 2005 and 2011 from the work of illegal immigrants, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

I met a bunch of their Mexican workers when they were working for FloridaPower clearing tree overhang from the power lines on my property. I thought it strange at the time, they were speaking Spanish exclusively. They claimed to be from Houston.

So glad this is happening! I hope it is just the beginning. Happy to pay more for this type of thing if it means our sovereignty is being respected.

She should be in jail, IMO.

She should be joined by the able-bodied men sleeping til noon in gov't housing, drawing unemployment checks because they refuse to trim trees!...or anything else to be self-supporting.

All I know is that if I’m ever injured by an illegal, I’m suing the company that facilitates him being here.

Exactly. If this problem was clamped down hard in the all along we would not have the problem we have now.

Our trip ti Mi was our very favorite vacation. Greenfield Village is someplace that I have always wanted to visit. We are trying to put together another trip there sometime soon. Since we missed spring, we may try for a fall trip again. We would like to see more of the countryside this time.

I wish them and their greedy criminal owners the very worst.

It's why Texas is now crawling with illegal aliens.

And why illegals up at Parkland Hospital in Dallas are pumping out about 1,000 anchor babies per month at just one Texas Hospital.

Ya got a lot of greedy biz owners down in Texas, while your politicians wink and nod at them.

Eventually, the illegals will turn the Alamo into a medical clinic for pregnant illegals.

Profits regardless of consequences will eventually leave America dead on the floor.

The South will never rise again because young southerners are liberal pansies. They’re ashamed of the south and of their heritage. They’re pro-gay, love rap music, and get tattooed up like some Maori tribesman.

You bet...It used to be just CA, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, etc....

Now it’s the entire United States..

Not a single person paying attention is surprised by this and those capable of critical thought saw this greed/government drivin violent invasion coming 30 years ago.

Bankruptcy?

The owners should be criminally prosecuted with all their assets seized.

We have a lot of business owners who can't find people to hire because they would rather get unemployment for doing nothing!

That's the Feds fault!

I was in a restaurant in LA last week. They are short handed because they can't hire waiters or busboys!

Nobody wants a job!!!!except illegal aliens!!!

Are you a Texas employer?

You really don't get it.

The employers want low wage illegal workers, because the are able to pay them much less. They want employees who think company benefits mean 10 minute breaks, who think 7 bucks an hour is great money, many times what they were making in Mehico, while receiving additional prizes, free medical care etc...All on the tax payers backs.

You cannot possibly be this ignorant.

I have been a Texas employer.

When I moved from Texas to Wisconsin and Minnesota, and other states in that as yet non-Hispanic region at that time, I noticed that all of the jobs were getting done, restaurants, car washes, landscaping, all done by white Americans, just like in my native Houston Texas until mass immigration changed it.

Exact same in CA. Then when the corrupt government opened the borders for millions of low wage illegals, guess who took all the jobs formally held by the white folk?

We all know this, even lonestar knows this. Only those drooling in cups buys his cheet.

We should handle this like drugs: If ICE finds an illegal on your job site they confiscate all your equipment and sell it at auction. How many bulldozers and dump trucks will they lose before they stop hiring illegals?
