Wonder if the kid was wearing his seat belt?

That sucker unclips and anybody driving in my family swings a fast right arm into the kids chest - plus they all know the seat belt stays locked until the car is shut off.

seat belts kill a lot too, it’s just one of those things... danged if you do, danged if you don’t.

I know that things happen, but you are very foolish to let a 5 year old hop out of a car in any circumstance.

My kid was just like this, she’d just GO and never look back.

I never got one of those baby leashes because I figured she’d hook her end up to some lamp post and take off, leaving me tethered!

My car locks the door once in motion.

While driving in the parking lot the child unbuckles the harness, unlocks the door, opens the door and runs off?

How much did Frank owe on that gas guzzler?

He hopped out, and I thought that was OK, I was just going to park

That's real smart there, genius. It's NEVER ok.

It's just the principle. When something like that happens so fast, I could give a rat's a-- about the car.

It's not about the car, moron.

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE FREAKIN' CAR !!!

What if it was my son down the embankment and your car ran over him...

if it was an automatic, then it takes less than a second to put it in park, if it was a standard, all he had to do was turn the key off with it in gear.
had there been another child in front of his jeep, he’d get a lot more than a ticket. you never leave a vehicle whilst it is in motion, or might be.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. The story is about what happened, not what should have happened. When you are in a panic, you don’t think straight.

There is absolutely no situation that is not made worse with the addition of a cop.

That's what I was wondering. The back doors also have child locks.

"There is absolutely no situation that is not made worse with the addition of a cop."

Maybe if you owned a donut shop, assuming the cops paid. Otherwise, you are very close to being absolutely correct there.
