Principal apparently forgot to take her meds this morning. Do we have any contact or email info for her? Hope this is picked up by Rush and FOX.
100 rode, but only 60 were suspended. What special about the missing 40?
Her feewings was hurt, awwwww............
Having read the entire article the only conclusion I have is that the Principal is ticked off because the police and the mayor were notified of the bike ride but she wasn’t notified by the students and took revenge in the only way left to her: Suspension. The question to me is will these seniors also be denied their graduation and commencement because the are on “suspension”.
If that happens I believe that it would be incumbent on the School board to locate a new Principal with some common sense still remaining in her brain.
Thanks cripplecreek. That school (for those who dunno) is a very nice one, and totally rural. And I grew up near enough to know this, in a different mostly-rural school district. Sounds like the principal needs the timeout here.
This was an event that happened off campus and before the school day started. They got to school; it is none of the school’s business how they got there. This is another example of creeping totalitarianism by government officials.
??
I must be missing something... whats wrong with riding bikes to school?
My uncle told me that the class of 1970 stacked bales of hay all around the front of the school so no one could get in that way on Monday morning.
Those who did it had to clear a path in the morning and then haul the hay back to the farms it came from and restack it in the barns. No one was suspended.
Tried to do tinyurl, but it kept disappearing on me.
BTW, the Mayor disagreed with the Principal.

Don’t know why people are willing to hand their children over to the Government to be “educated”
Teachers' kids, the mayor's kids, the school boards' kids, city council members' kids, etc. That's how most of these things are handled.
If this is what Ms. Principal gets her panties in a wad over, this should have been her final day as well.
Or motorcycles, cough.
If I were the Mayor I would say the following:
"Today, on the senior prank day, the Principal Katie Pennington chose a truly unique and unforgettable way to announce her resignation."
Let’s see: My brother filled the entire office and hall with Dixie cups stapled together and filled with water. He also covered the flag pole with tires.
My class put a hot-air balloon and limos in the quad.
We probably should have been shot.
All right, they’ve got the torches and pitchforks..oh, make that bikes and pitchforks out. Go Students! Go Parents!
Update from 6 P.M. (WZZM) — Kenowa Hills seniors and parents, upset over the trouble the students got into by riding bikes to their final day of classes, have prompted the district’s school board to move its scheduled work session to a larger building to accomodate the protesters.
The crowd — many of them on bikes, as suggested by local radio station 105.3 Hot FM — showed up at Kenowa Hills High School around 5 p.m. Tuesday. One of the station’s deejays planned to present the high school principal with a “gift,” following her suspending seniors who rode bikes to school for their last day.
The school board was to meet at 5:30 p.m. at the district’s administration building, near the high school. The protesters rode their bikes and drove to the meeting.
The school board is now moving its meeting to a nearby middle school. The meeting is expected to restart at 6:30 p.m.
Good thing that she’s worked so hard to get all the other problems in the school corrected so she has time to go after those rebellious bikers.
Why, they...rode bikes. The nerve!
If I were a parent, I’d be raising a stink with the school board and demand the suspension be expunged from my kid’s permanent record.
If the kids never got on a school bus, they were outside the “jurisdiction” of the school until they crossed onto school property. If there was no rule in place against riding bikes to school, the principal has no case.
Yep. She needs to feel the heat.
