Former Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) might run for Congress in 2014 — possibly as a Republican.
BuzzFeed reports that the conservative Democrat is looking at challenging Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) in 2014.
The Fix reached out to Davis via email and the man who sought the 2010 Democratic nomination for governor in the Yellow Hammer State was very careful to leave the door open to another bid — possibly from the other side of the partisan aisle.
“I do receive encouragement from friends to join the Republican Party and to get into politics in the [northern Virginia] area, but I recognize the challenges of reentering politics in a new state and a new party, and am nowhere near taking those challenges on,” Davis told The Fix. “If I did, I would have a lot to learn about this region and a lot of people to meet, and frankly, would need a lot of help from people in this community.”
At this point the former congressman would more likely find a welcoming home in the GOP.
“I know he’d be welcomed” by the GOP, Virginia Republican strategist Chris LaCivita said. “I think he would be a formidable candidate.”
Many Democrats want nothing to do with him. “Promise turned into sour grapes,” said Davis’ former pollster, John Anzalone.

Gerry Cannoli (intentionally misspelled) is Pelosi’s lapdog. Davis would be a huge improvement!
Considering he was from the Birmingham area he was more conservative than the norm.....however his voting record needs to be looked @....he did vote against Obamacare but he was also running for Governor @ the time. Likable in that he is reasonable.

Nope, there isn’t. There are too many ‘rats running as GOP’ers-—that’s what’s happening here in TX, too. ‘rats are seeing they can’t win as ‘rats so they are running as conservative pubbies.

Interesting!!! Artur Davis, considering running for the House as a Republican, Cory Booker, upcoming Democrat Party star jumps all over Obama, Harold Ford does the same, many American Blacks running for office as Republicans across the country. Could wise, forward seeing American Blacks see the doom pending for American Blacks with Obama and the Democrat Party in control of the “Plantation”!!!
IMHO, American Blacks, by supporting Obama and the Democrat Party will have set themselves back fifty years, as broader America will never forgive them for supporting the incompetent, failed POTUS Obama. If you folks think that Cory Booker opened his mouth without thinking, you are mistaken.
Now, if Mr. Booker is smart, he will renounce his Democrat Party membership and join the Republican Party. There, he will become the true, capable leader he is, a man for America, his race and all Americans. Methinks, the winds of change may be blowing in the greater Black American community. It’s always nice when normal humans who were once Democrats pull their heads out of their asses and realize that the Democrat party left them long, long ago.
Davis was Obama’s hand picked choice for Al gov in the last cycle. They are old buds from somehwere, schooldays or something. I wouldnt trust Davis at all myself, no matter what he says.
Davis was one of the first whistle blowers on Democrat voter fraud in the African American community.
