The son of Winter Hill Gang hit man John The Executioner Martorano is facing armed robbery, assault and domestic violence charges stemming from assaults on his wife and a random stranger, as well as car theft during a five-day period, police and prosecutors said.
I had taken several blows to the head and was choked repeatedly, Vincent Martoranos wife, Dina, told Saugus officers hours after the couple fought the night of May 9 in Room 24 of the Avalon Motel on Route 1, according to her statement. Investigators said in their report, She stated that she was afraid of him and what he might do.
After stealing a car and dropping out of sight for several days, police said, Martorano, 41, of Charlestown, is separately accused of threatening to stab a 26-year-old woman the night of May 14 in the North End. Martorano, whose 23-year criminal history prosecutors said includes pinches for larceny, resisting arrest and violating restraining orders, told the woman, Give me your bags or Ill stab you, then socked her so hard in the jaw he flattened her to the ground, police said.
Martorano stole the womans $2,000 laptop, a $500 Gucci wallet and $5 cash, police said. Defense attorney Michael Roitman declined comment.

>>His godfather and namesake was Vincent “Jimmy The Bear” Flemmi, Steve Flemmi’s late psychotic big brother.
The lad’s godfather, who died of a drug overdose in prison in 1979
>>In and out of prison after 1969, later released under Gov. Dukakis weekend-furlough program for vicious killers. Like Willie Horton, once they cut him loose the Bear never looked back. Escaped from Massachusetts after unsuccessfully trying to murder a woman (and settling from strangling her cat). Recaptured in Baltimore in 1978 after assaulting a woman, died a year later at MCI-Norfolk of a drug overdose...Mafia underboss Gerry Angiulo delivered a personal message to Jimmy the Bear from the Man, Raymond L.S. Patriarca: You cant keep killing people just because they look at you the wrong way. Despite the warning, Jimmy the Bear continued killing people because they looked at him the wrong way.

I guess it’s all about appearances!
My money's on Billy.Remember what Kevin White said to Chris Lydon all those years ago?
Looks like O’Neill and Lehr’s book about the Boston mob has been re-issued in trade paperback, with an altered subtitle. Before: “Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob” Now: “Black Mass: Whitey Bulger, The FBI, and a Devil’s Deal”. Whitey’s mugshot now on front (before, a shamrock etc.) I had heard the abridged audiobook of that on cass. from the library years ago.
Why don’t these guys ever have nicknames like “The Little Old Lady Helper” or “The Spends Quality Time With His Kids”? All these violent nicknames....my my.......Maybe if they had nicer nicknames they would grow up to be model citizens......what chance does a poor boy have when his nickname is “Strangle You With Your Own Guts”?
I thought this was about Woody Harrelson
Mob hit man: My sons a bum
By Laurel J. Sweet | Thursday, May 24, 2012 |
The troubled son of retired gangland hired gun John Martorano is a bum, the fed-up father told the Herald.
Hes a bum. He breaks everybodys heart, the convicted executioner of 20 souls said yesterday to Herald columnist Howie Carr about his son Vincent Martorano, 41, who remains held on $15,000 bail.
The younger Martorano is accused in an alarming five-day spree that led to charges of domestic violence on his wife, car theft and the assault and robbery of a young stranger.
Saugus cops charged him with beating up his wife in a Route 1 motel room on May 9 and stealing a car from a 60-year-old Melrose man. Boston cops have chwarged him with robbing and threatening to stab a woman walking in the North End on May 14, saying give me your bags or Ill stab you. Hes accused of punching her so hard she was knocked to the ground, then taking the 26-year-old womans $2,000 laptop, her $500 Gucci wallet and $5 in cash.
Boston police said yesterday their investigation remains active.
Between prep school educations and financial bailouts totaling thousands of dollars, John Martoranos cousin Joseph Martorano told the Herald yesterday, Johnny tried to straighten (his son) out.
Joseph Martorano said drugs destroyed Vincents career as a carpenter.
He sold all his tools. Over the years hes probably been into everything, Joseph Martorano said.
He said the kids old man finally gave up. His life would have been a lot easier if hed abandoned the kid years earlier, but its not his way. Johnny was a killer, but he had certain scruples. No father could have done more.
The accused Martoranos dad is no angel. John Martorano pleaded guilty in 1999 to killing 20 people but served just 12 years after agreeing to help the feds prosecute his former associates.
Between mob business and prison, he may not have been there for his kid as the best role model. But his cousin Joseph Martorano, when asked how hed respond to those who might say the apple didnt fall far from the tree, said the former hit man has five children and four of them turned out fine.
What about the other four apples? Hes just the bad apple, Joseph Martorano said about Vincent.
