From the article:
Matt Corrigan, Were here to help you, Matt, the voice said in the darkness.
It reads like poorly written horror fiction, but it is non-fiction so it’s that much scarier.

The LEO community is just
an arm of the state; the state has become an enemy of the people.Just? Without enforcers, there could be no police state.

Agreed. I served in a combat specialty (reserve component) and have seen generally what you’ve seen: criminality where it shouldn’t be.

It appears so, sadly enough.
We need more peace officers. Sadly, they are ever decreasing. .

The government is treating military heroes worse than it treats the real terrorists.

10+ years ago, terrorists attacked America. Now the government does the terrorists work, so they dont have to.
It's like Dad said, "the terrorists have won." (and more, IMHO). America is a lot different from what I remember from 1975 or 1985, heck, even 1995.

Pure evil.
I have to quit thinking in terms of coming police state and accept we are in the present police state. I dont know if Waco was the start of it or long before, but we live in a police state that would make the founders disband organized police nationwide and go back to volunteers.
Maybe I'm radical, so were the Founding Fathers, but if I was president, I'd disband the FBI (maybe to the point where they run crime labs only), BATF and the Secret Service would only protect the President and other politicians. I'd shut down SWAT teams, I just fear the militarization of the police forces. Most police would carry a revolver, a 1970's era walkie-talkie and a backup shotgun and/or .30-30 rifle.
Evil. Criminal. Despicable. I have always been pro LEO, but the constant reminders of night time no-knock raids, dog shootings, DUI checkpoints, the TSA and other police oppression has me wondering how soon the LEO community will become an enemy of the state, if it isnt already.
To be fair, I think most local LEO's are OK, but I fear they are being pushed to be more military-like and this does not bode well. I don't like the idea of no-knock raids.
I'm reminded on an episode of "Picket Fences" back in the mid 1990's, where Sherriff Tom Skerrit was on a jury judging a drug dealer who shot 2 or 3 cops dead during a no-knock raid with his Uzi. The defense put up the motion that since it was a no-knock raid, the perp claimed self-defense for fear of his life since he did not know it was the police. Skerrit's character agreed with that idea. I did some thinking and I would have to say that logic applies since the police did not identify themselves and show proof. I often wonder if something like that happened again, they could use that as a defense. BTW, the defendant walked IIRC.
Nothing but family is as important as my freedom and I dont feel very free.
Yeah, I know. As I said in a previous post, if I compare today to the America or 1975 or 1985 or even 1995, we have lost a lot, I don't recognize my country anymore.
I kind of like your volunteer police idea, buy a 1965 Ford Galaxie, drop in a CB and/or VHF radio and off we go. We have strayed so far.

The Byzantine Empire finally collapsed after the citizens decided it just wasnt worth saving. We are reaching that point here. We are a confederation of people at odds with each other. It wont last.
Well, we are worth saving, but we need to work on a way on how it can be done. I do understand your frustration, I've said much the same as you. You're right, we are a gaggle of people who are at odds with each other, well, really you have two basic groups, one is for freedom and the Constitution, the other is for womb to the tomb government control. These two basic views are 180 degrees out of phase. You know what happens when you tie two alternators together that are 180 degrees out of phase? They work against each other and they burn up, even causing a huge fire. We are almost there now.
I'll be truthful, I would not want any of my kids (if I had any) or young person to join the armed forces now, unfortunately, they are being used as tools. I still admire our people in uniform but still with this crowd in office, they are just pawns on the chessboard. Instead, I'd rather see them enter the unorganized militias.
What does the future hold, well, I don't know, if we do break up as a country, perhaps we can keep the ideals of the Constitution in the few "rump" States that come out of it and we can rejoin again over time. We live in trying times.

I think most old school LEOs are OK. I’m think most of the younger cops have bought into the militarization and the idea that they are foot soldiers in the army against crime. Cops used to understand they are just law and order keepers among the people. The young generation takes their para-military status very very seriously.
Like you, I don’t recognize this country anymore at all and I’m only 53 years old, so it is not as if I am comparing the USA to the WWII era. I don’t remember anything much before the 1970s and this America is just stifling in its bureaucratic, regulatory, no-knock raid, TSA strip search tyranny. It’s really bad. Young people will never know honest liberty.

Yeah, I’ll be 46 in July and like you, I think America has really changed and for the worse, IMHO.

The Veterans Crisis Hotline and the National Suicide Prevention Hotline use the same phone numberAnd I doubt those at the latter have the training to deal effectively with the former.
