Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday that every member of the state legislature in Wisconsin received an email that said were going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family live.
Johnson, speaking in Washington, D.C. at Americas Future Foundations annual gala, said that at the height of Gov. Scott Walkers fight against the unions, every member of the state legislature was threatened.
The story really wasnt told properly we had every member of the state legislature get an email that said, Were going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family lives. Now, that wasnt reported very well because I guess thats not newsworthy when its a union thug making a threat against a conservative.
Johnson told The Daily Caller that the high level of intimidation and political divisiveness in Wisconsin is due to Walkers fight to reign in spending pushed by public sector unions.
Scott Walker did a hard thing he actually solved a problem, and he did it in a way that recognized and addressed one of the growing problems here, and that is really the power of the public sector unions and, I would say, the unholy alliance between elected officials that get supported by those unions and the unions themselves, Johnson told TheDC.
Johnson also spoke about the U.S. Supreme Courts impending decision on Obamacare. He admitted that Republicans dont have a plan for what they intend to do if Obamacare is ruled unconstitutional and said that he believes Americans are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
I wish we could say that we absolutely have that nailed, but Id say we dont. I think there are a number of all kinds of different alternatives and theres some really good ideas from a number of different members of Congress. Im not afraid that were not going to be able to come to a consensus, I would just say we havent come to that consensus yet.
We collectively are suffering from the Stockholm syndrome here
when a hostage somebody that has been kidnapped is thankful, grateful for any ounce of mercy their captors show them. Thats whats happening. We are begging to be allowed to maintain that last ounce, that last shred of freedom.
Was this reported the authorities? Email can be traced in some cases and making these threats public will go a ways towards making them ineffective.
It is hard to believe this was never reported by any of the media outlets (unless I missed it totally). Also the way this was written there seems to be no distinction between the Rep and the Dems when it comes to who was threatened.
Not even sure I believe this.
What's to "admit"? Back to the free market and the private insurance industry, that should be the stated "plan". If anybody wants to get fancy, they can eliminate the pointless limitations on state-to-state plans.
It’s easier for you to believe that a conservative would lie about getting death threats, than to believe that the MSM would bury that kind of story?
since I went and made the effort...
“In a post on Saturday (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog), I noted that the wire service treated the arrest of Katherine Windels for issuing death threats to all but one of the GOP’s state senators as a local story. Later on Saturday, NB’s Noel Sheppard noted the virtual absence of media coverage of Windels’ arrest on any broadcast network newscast or cable new show (except Fox’s O’Reilly Factor).”
But I didn’t see it on FNC either. Was it reported?
The MSM was totally in the tank for the unions. And many of the “authorities” up in Wisconsin are still under Dem influence.
I know at least a couple of threatening emails were traced...as I recall one was traced back to a teacher from Racine.
Not being made up from nothing, you know.
The “union organizers” in Wisconsin have been doing just this sort of thing for years, and it is not confined only to the holders of state elective offices. It is also practiced against MANY local school boards, against county elected officials, and against the management teams of manufacturing and service companies.
Some places, the threats are simply laughed out the door, and nothing much happens. But then, these were not in the union strongholds of Madison and Milwaukee, and some of the other major “Rust Belt” manufacturing places roughly south and east of a line running from Green Bay to about Janesville. That area has always been a stronghold of “progressives”, first as the supporters of the La Follette dynasty (emphasis on “nasty”), then as the Progressive party was absorbed into the Democrats, the Pat Lucey-Gaylord Nelson branch of the party, and with a dynasty of their own. They even had their own major journal, the Madison-based Capital Times, a blatantly pro-Socialist periodical that was always to the left of even the Milwaukee Journal (now Journal-Sentinel). The other relatively large paper in the area, the Wisconsin State Journal, was once representative of the Republican (not conservative) point of view, but they have become a timid “me-too” echo of what the others blast across their headlines.
So you will never hear anything of the antics of the massive left-wing conspiracy in the local news, and if it isn’t local, it sure won’t make the national. The death threats are probably more nearly close to being carried out than not, as several legislators have chosen to resign, rather than to find out what happens to their homes, or businesses, or families. Others, well, conform. And it matters not if the legislator is Democrat or Republican, the same implicit threat is there, like a pistol pointed at your lower extremities beneath the table.
he’s one week old.
Ok, so it was reported by the media. Was it strictly local, was that the reason this is the first I am hearing of it?
Color me surprised.
Hello, n00b. Why don’t you look around Free Republic for a while, you know, get to know the lay of the land..... before challenging the word of a State Senator....
you know, there are things worse than death. Patrick Henry “Give me liberty or give me death”
I don’t doubt for a second the union thugs are fully capable of this sort of behavior. I’m wondering why these officials did not take it on themselves to call a press conference and pass out copies of the threats to the reporters and by doing so force the issue. It could have been sent to DRUDGE by the elected officials and I believe he would have headlined it because it is a big story.
You recall what happened when Time Mag decided to sit on the Lewinsky story and DRUDGE then ran it and caused it to go worldwide almost instantaneously.
I would really like to see health savings accounts pushed. I would rather have my company put the money they pay to an insurance company on my behalf into an account; I think they claim they pay $8-10k a year. If I would have had that from the first year, I would be in the $100k region. Then I pay for catastrophic health insurance.
It has come down to this. Not surprising.
Behave like the animals in a third world.
They’ve been taught well.
What a legacy for the fraud pre-sent.
D.I.V.I.D.E.C.O.N.Q.U.E.R.A.N.D.D.E.S.T.R.O.Y.
I’d return the favor. Go to the union bosses and let them know that if any legislator is harmed then they will suffer the consequences, that they had better get control of and keep control of their members and everyone else, because no matter who pulls the trigger they will be held accountable and the favor returned. Fight fire with fire.
If you had been reading FR at the time you would have heard about it. I remember hearing about it at the time.
“Email can be traced in some cases...”
It wasn’t reported becaue the emails were probably traced back to:
1.) The White House
2.) DNC headquarters
or
3.) Public union HQ
According to the left stream media there can be no crimes committed by any of these.
The reason you have not heard about this, prior to today, is that the media collusively downplays news that might harm the left, and stridently trumpets any news that might harm the right. See my tagline for a more in-depth analysis.

Thanks for the input but I think I'll just take a pass on your unasked for advice. As someone politically involved at the local and state level since about 1975 I doubt I'll stop expressing my opinion at the suggestion of someone who simply doesn't like to hear what I have to say unless it agrees with your own position. Your kind of thinking is suspiciously like what happens on the other side, isn't it? If I have broken any forum rules then by all means tell me, but as far as waiting a prescribed length of time before I express my opinion, well don't hold your breath. I will however promise if I ever do want advice as to what to say or when to say it I will contact you first.
I have been following FR since 1996. I must have missed it.
Nonsense. You have been following since 1996 but decided to join FIFTEEN+ YEARS LATER.
No sale.
Hey pal, it's yer zot.
Have fun with that.
Actually, not a bad idea.
You, who claim to have followed FR for more than fifteen years, you might have seen me around....?
The reason the death threats were not properly investigated and prosecuted is, the District Attny of Dane County is a former Gov.Doyle appointee and was hand picked as the lefty-ist of the leftys. He does not prosecute death threats against any conservatives, even our Governor.
He is also the DA that DOES let the bogus lawsuits go forward in Madison, that have suspended our Voter ID Law (just in time for our recall election!) and he also let suits go forward that delayed ACT 10 (collective public union bargaining) from being implemented when it was passed. This gave union thugs time to quickly pass extended contracts with school districts with the old under the table sweetheart deals before the law could go through the courts and take effect.
The Dane DA and Dane judges are tyrants ruling against the will of the people, and they nullify every law with a few strokes of the pen.
WI Supreme Court Justice Prosser is once again under attack in the courts because of this tyranny too. He already proved he was the one attacked, not unJustice Bradley, but he is again facing charges because the judicial review board or some such commie controlled board wants to harrass him some more.
The left stacked the courts and DA’s office, so if and when conservatives took power they would be able to delay or stop us.
Conservative talk radio hosts are also under death threats (Vicki McKenna for one). Nothing is being done by “authorities”. Even when the thug is located, nothing is done.
Conservatives have no protections other than what we provide ourselves with the 2nd Amendment.
That would be a good tagline.
I like this guy Johnson. He speaks straight up, in English, and in a way that is easy to understand.
Of course, I like what he says, too.
If Ron Johnson were making this stuff up, the Leftist media would demand proof so they could embarrass Johnson. But, of course, the Leftist media knows that this went on and will say nothing. So maybe you should carefully watch the WI news this week and see if the Leftist media challenges Johnson. If they do not challenge Johnson, you will have real time and very overt evidence of media bias, as if we need more evidence at this point.
First I said I am “not sure” I believe Johnson and went on to explain why. Many responded and some said it was indeed reported so I must have missed it. I accept it has been reported.
To me a death threat on a group of elected officials is a truly huge thing and I suppose I thought it would have made a bigger splash especially since it appears to have been coordinated.
I have been closely following the Wisconsin recall and will continue to do so through the election.
I could not possibly care less what you think, trust me on this.
Sadly I have too! You are a “giant” in your own mind Laz!
No, why do you ask? Are you someone who should be noticed and if so why? In a forum format I am far more interested in what people have to say rather then who they are.
LOL, if what I have posted here on this forum is a bootable offense then I have indeed made a mistake in joining the discussion.
It is precisely due to threats such as this from people like yourself which makes me so hesitant to join. In any case if you have the authority and wish to do so then zot away. It will speak far more to what you are all about then anything I could say.

Google or Bing is your friend.
Btw, you're kinda mouthy for a n00b. Just saying.
I have no authority.
I have experience and observation, though.
As you were.
Just curious. You claim to have followed the forum for more than 15 years. Have you ever heard of any of these screen names: Registered, Clinton's A Liar, Clarity, kristinn, Eschoir?
Most of these people are firmly in the halls of Free Republic lore. Old timers such as you would know some or all of these people.
Some people like me, some people dislike me. I'll put you down in the 'dislike' column. No worries. :)
You need to really just accept the fact that the Leftist media constantly spikes stories that do not fit their narrative. This is the norm. For example, right now the national Leftist media is spiking the very big development that multiple Catholic institutions are suing HHS over the contraceptive mandate. Probably the biggest story spiked in recent times by the national media has been the failure to report the faking of global warming data by multiple university investigators. Even liberal media outlets in Europe reported the scandal.
Death threats are NOT at all a big deal when directed at conservatives according to the Leftist media. Remember, many of these so-called ‘journalists’ are so biased and hate-filled against conservatives that they actually signed the Walker recall petition.
I prefer Dogpile to Google or Bing, both of which are government search engines and both of which bring up too much extraneous garbage.
Great point. Google is worthless since it quite obviously intentionally filters out any conservative articles. Bing is much better but I’ll check out Dogpile.
Oh goodie, you have experience. So does everyone else...at something or other.
Carry on? LOL, indeed I will and in my own way, as always.
I don’t predict a good outcome for you. Good luck to ya.
I know this. All I said was I don’t recall seeing the news about this reported and thought it odd a story of this importance would be ignored. I have since been informed it was reported and I must have missed it.
I agree the Left is capable and guilty of threats such as these.
Get to the point if you have one.
But I have a feeling you'd get a visit from the FBI and its crack SWAT Team, plus Snipers, and Black Helicopters, if you just sent a 'greeting card' to a Black city hack pol in Chi or Philly that mocked Kwanzaa. Or to a 'Latino' pol in LA mocking 'Cinco De Drunko-skunko' :-)
Public employment unions should be/must be eliminated. That goes for police, fireman, and all so called civil service employees. It is well past the era when working people needed thugs to force money and welfare from the money baggers and instead place the burden on those majority of persons who want freedom to have and enjoy their own sweat earnings. No bunch of collectivists in this Nation should be allowed access to another persons self earned money.
Wisconsin Senator Johnson reveals that every member of the State legislature was threatened at height of crisis last year
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
This news surprised me. I know that all of the Republicans were threatened. It was reported and the Capital PD did nothing about it. At least one of the people who did this is known, and nothing has been done to her. I had not heard about any Democrats being threatened. Perhaps Johnson mis-spoke, or was vague on purpose.
I predict a quick flameout.
