Repeating what has been a rallying cry of gay activism for years, the cover of the December 16, 2008, issue of The Advocate announced, "Gay is the New Black: The Last Great Civil Rights Struggle." Last week, on May 19, headlines across the nation announced, "NAACP endorses gay marriage as 'civil right.'" So, is gay the new black?
There are prominent black leaders who say yes, including Congressman John Lewis, who was active in the early civil rights movement. There are other prominent black leaders who say no, like Timothy F. Johnson, founder and president of The Frederick Douglass Foundation.
For a number of reasons, I concur with Johnson and others who say that gay is not the new black.

Both sides of an equation must balance. If “gay is the new black” then black must be the new gay. Is that the way of it?
Recently went to a parade lots of politicians in the parade riding in cars with their families, but the openly homosexual lawmaker had his car filled with three black kids, trying to send an equality message, I was so offended that he would try to equate blackness with homosexual behavior, I wondered how these kids parents could allow their children to be used by this politician.
Never understood why homosexuality merits any attention at all.
Unnatural and immoral behaviour has nothing in common with skin colour.
So, in another 10 years, are pedophiles the new gays?
He probably bribed the children’s parents with some government funded(meaning, of course, taxpayer funded) “freebies”.
Considering the fact that white homosexual males had the right to vote and own property before blacks did, I fail to see how “gay is the new black.”
It will be sooner than that. I figure polygamy/polyamory and then incest will be the “new gays” as well.
I hope this doesn’t lead to queer slaves!
It really is no different than humping a hole in the fence.
It is human stupidity on display, and I will never recognize it for anything other than that.
What is so “GAY” about engaging in sodomy?
Especially if one is the donee?

It’s not “gay”. It’s just another perversion (pun intended) of the language in which the left engages.
Indeed Homosexuality is a mental illness.They kill in a very strange way.
Children are toy’s to them.
Conservative blacks know that civil rights truly are rights that belong to people on the basis of the moral equality of being created by God. That fact ended up being the deciding factor that changed the minds of most Americans, not any Civil Rights Act passed by Congress. The moral rightness of the cause, as represented by MLK, is honorable and decent.
Homosexuality is anything BUT moral to them. They view it as a direct conflict to the morality that assured their civil rights.
Here's the test of this principle. If you see a body in a casket, can you tell the race? Yep. Can you tell the sexual orientation? Nope. That's because, unlike race, society experiences a person's sexual orientation as something they do, not as something they are.
Black people are not doing anything wrong. They are people the same as I am people. The only difference is the color of their skin. That is not a big enough difference to matter to me.
Gay people (sexual perverts) are doing something wrong. They are doing something that is not natural. They know that and proceed anyway. It is hard for me to accept their argument that they have no control over it. It looks to me the same as Charles Manson saying he had no control over what he did. They know and yet they continue. That is not the new black.
