House lawmakers will consider an international proposal next week to give the United Nations more control over the Internet.
The proposal is backed by China, Russia, Brazil, India and other UN members, and would give the UNs International Telecommunication Union (ITU) more control over the governance of the Internet.
Next weeks hearing is expected to bring more attention in the U.S. to the measure, which would give the UN more control over cybersecurity, data privacy, technical standards and the Webs address system. It would also allow foreign government-owned Internet providers to charge extra for international traffic and allow for more price controls.

Time to take names...
How about we get the hell out of the corrupt UN instead.
“Its an unpopular idea with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle in Congress, and officials with the Obama administration have also criticized it.”
So why is Congress even considering it?
Maybe instead, Congress should look for ways to throw the UN out of the US.
It was invented HERE to survive a nuclear attack.
Why NOT give it to the antiUS UN to control? [/s]
Yeah go ahead and let the U.N. regulate. Then watch as a billion internet addicts go rioting like rage zombies.
NO! NO! NO!
There is a ton of content on the internet I don’t care for, but I have the option to NOT go there. We all have that option.
If this passes it will be another nail in the coffin. Restriction of information brought to us by no other sources.
No such thing as the new world order right?.
I think it's high time Boehner left the house. Even considering this idea is counter to Conservatism.
L.O.S.T. (Law of the Sea Treaty), Panetta telling congress that NATO or the UN gives the US approval to go to war, NDAA (Constitution out the window), NDRP and now this gaga. And still you can’t convince most people there’s even a plan for some sort of one-world governance. How do you stop something that most people don’t believe exists?
So why is Congress even considering it?
“Don’t blame us, the UN did that!!”
The UN and US Politicians want all news to be silenced except what they want us to hear by their chosen media. Want to control the population of the U.S. Russia used the indoctrination system starting in preschool and look how their citizens were brain washed into communist/marxist beliefs.
Screw that. It's time to take up arms.
Blue helmets make for easy targets.
Boehner is way behind in his duties. Dem House investigated everything Reagan and the Booshes did, every damn thing. Boehner acts like he is Obama’s byoch. Extremely deferential to The One - just for a chance to play golf with him.
If you want to be on or off the Agenda 21 ping list, please notify me by Freepmail. It is a relatively low volume list in which we have been exploring the UN Agenda21 and related topics. NEW ACTION THREAD:
Finally figured out what is going on.
There are three factions in the world today. Communists, Radical Islam and American Brand Conservatism and human liberty.
In the game of global domination, one faction has to be eliminated. That’s us and Israel. Once that is done, the other two will split up the world before they finally have the last war.
How to do it? Destroy liberty by bankrupting us and forcing us onto the government dole. Take away our methods of communication. And finally, take away our guns.
The left will settle for Romney because in the end, he is one of them. And this is why they are scared to death of the tea party and especially Sarah Palin.
We must win for humanity.
So they can scare the IP providers into thinking they will vote for it, which would result in the lobbyists for the IP providers supplying more money to the Congressmen to defeat it, thus lining their own pockets.
Damn shame the RINOs running the House will probably go along with this. Just look at their support for SOPA, etc.
One outrage after another.
