House to examine plan for United Nations to regulate the Internet (How Dumb Can They Be?)
The Hill ^ | May 27th 2012 | Brendan Sasso

House lawmakers will consider an international proposal next week to give the United Nations more control over the Internet.

The proposal is backed by China, Russia, Brazil, India and other UN members, and would give the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU) more control over the governance of the Internet.

It’s an unpopular idea with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle in Congress, and officials with the Obama administration have also criticized it.

“We're quite concerned,” Larry Strickling, the head of the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration, said in an interview with The Hill earlier this year.

Just remember, it’s for the children. How can’t they turn the children into slaves if you let then read about freedom and liberty online whenever they want? How dare people freely advertise products that may actually help an economy.

Sure internet has a dark side but so do a lot of other things. Free people at least are allowed to choose.

The people of the world are being seduced into giving away our freedoms for the seemingly warm blanket of security.

UNaccountable bureaucrats ARE socialists. DEPOPULATE socialists from the body politic. DEFUND socialist collectives, foreign and domestic.

“Socialism Is Legal Plunder”

“Above all, if you wish to be strong, begin by rooting out every particle of socialism that may have crept into your legislation. This will be no light task.”

Quotes: The Law; Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850

Every day...it is like waves hitting the beach. Just when you think congress can’t be more ignorant, they outdo themselves. Sure, allow a festering pile of unelected morons from dictatorships and tyrannies control of the internet. What could go wrong? What could possibly be wrong with doing that?

They are just hell bent on giving away our freedoms...

Nobody can "give away" our freedoms. They can be taken away ONLY if we allow them too.

These UN marxist thugs are evil and they will jump at the chance to control the Internet. They will say they don't even need the approval of the U.S Congress. The U.S. media will hide any UN attempt to control the Internet.

China is already censoring the Internet. And China is buying up the U.S.

The U.S. must get out of the UN and stop trading with most of these countries especially China. We are losing our sovereignty and our jobs as most of the things we use are already made in other countries.

They can “examine” it all they want, as long as they throw it back at the U.N. with howls of laughter or grunts of disgust.

If they even consider trying to implement it, though, it’s time for the shooting to start!
