General Colin Powell said on Wednesday that he supports gay marriage, representing a turning point for the former secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"I have no problem with it," Powell told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in an interview. "In terms of the legal matter of creating a contract between two people that's called marriage, and allowing them to live together with the protection of law, it seems to me is the way we should be moving in this country. And so I support the president's decision."

I continually wonder why we waste bandwidth on this man’s opinions.

You aren't alone.

If Obama were to announce a plan to require the addition of e coli fecal matter to the nation's water supply, it would be just a matter of time before Colin Powell would announce that he had no problem with that idea either.

To anyone born of God, there is no lift in the spirit from reading such words, only a vexing at the deadness issuing from them. In contrast, Paul (the apostle's) words—"But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people"—excite and terrify (because of the seeming impossibility, as we are by God's own design sexual creatures).

God's standards are impossibly high, leading us to Christ as the only One who could keep them for us and as us. The attempt to legitimize homosexuality is a spiritual dead end unsupported by the Lord Jesus.
