$$$$$$ The private sector union worker is a rare breed, only 7% of the private sector is union. $$$$$$$
And what % of that 7% is FORCED to be Union?
Private Sector Employees: 7.0 million (6.9%)
Public (GOVERNMENT) Sector Employees: 7.6 million (36.2%)
“And what % of that 7% is FORCED to be Union?”
Quite a few. Thanks for asking. Husband was required to be union for 10 years at former job (same industry). He hated it because the unions played their unions like fiddles, getting them riled up by little things, and letting big things go, all the while padding their own pockets at the expense of the employees. The dues were expensive, and were a huge burden to the guys who made even less money. When contract negotiation time rolled around, union goons intimidated and even outright threatened the guys to sign the new contract that they didn’t’ want because it was worse than the last one (they always were). People the stood up to the union didn’t live long. Literally. So mostly you just paid your dues, shut up, signed whatever they told you to sign, and waited for a better job. Unions suck!!
