Obama Politicizes Memorial Day With 'Sacred Trust' Campaign Ad Targeting Veterans

Barack Obama has taken his reelection campaign to new depths with a television ad targeting veterans released last week timed for Memorial Day.

Now never mind that Memorial Day is to honor those killed in service while Veterans Day is set aside to honor living service members. We know that Obama has trouble differentiating the two. ("On this Memorial Day as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes--and I see many of them in the audience here today..." Obama, May 26, 2008)

The Associated Press quots Obama in the ad:

"It's because of what they've done that we've been able to go after al-Qaida and kill bin Laden," Obama says. "And when they come home we have a sacred trust to make sure that we are doing everything we can to heal all of their wounds, giving them the opportunities that they deserve to find a job and get the education that they need. It's not enough just to make as speech about how much we value veterans. It's not enough just to remember them on Memorial Day." At the end, Obama salutes.

I don't remember George W. Bush running such an ad at Memorial Day in 2004. If he had, he would have been crucified by the media and the Democrats for campaigning on the bodies of troops he sent to death.

Never mind that Obama himself has sent troops to their death in his ill-planned Afghanistan surge/retreat. The news media will never criticize Obama for exploiting Memorial Day for his reelection.

The AP also noted the ads will run on: "Broadcast and cable stations in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia."

In March of 2009, Dear Leader wanted to charge veteran,s private insurers for the cost of their Line of Duty injuries.

For the first time in my adult life, I'm really proud of my country. I mean, my husband. My country. Never mind.

I’ll bet you could count the number of veterans who buy his BS on one hand.

Can anybody give an example of a time when this narcissistic idiot has ever shown people who served in the military anywhere near the degree of respect and gratitude they deserve? Just one example?

This is what I wrote on that You Tube page:

Memorial day,"and when they come home?" Does this guy have a clue Memorial Day is to solemly HONOR and morialize in meditation of those thet GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM. Is he thinking of veterans Day? Sadly those "that come home" on memorial day are in boxes, bless them, their family and friends. God Bless all especially those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our republic , for our liberty and freedom. God bless ya'll, God Bless.

It's pending approval. Oops I can hear a UAV buzzing out back..uh oh...

I’m convinced that this guy is committed to taking at least one action every single day to prove he is - without any question - the biggest douchebag in the nation.

What the heck are you thinking, why in the good name of gravy train would you disparage douchebags like that.

AdminMod please remind this user of personal attacks. Equating the noble "douchebag" with that narcissistic morally repugnant clown goes way beyond the Marques of Queensbury rules on decorum and breeding.

Just sayin.

You have been warned, then next step is too egregious to think of, but I will send you 250,0000 pictures of Debbie Wasserman Shultz in various poses if you persist! /grin

You're right - I owe total douchebags everywhere a humble apology.

My bad.

I’d love to find out which twenty-something self-important idiotic consultant it was who convinced Team Obama to waste even one dollar trying to get the veteran and military vote. Bet you a steak dinner they never served a day in uniform!

Yes it runs here in Orlando. As soon as ZERO comes on my TV it goes to mute. I can't take his stupid voice.

Obama, for the second year in a row, thinks Memorial Day is Veterans Day or Armed Forces Day.

Idiot... you would think he has staff to review his speeches.

Romney has a huge lead over Obama with vets > http://www.gallup.com/poll/154904/Veterans-Give-Romney-Big-Lead-Obama.aspx?utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=syndication&utm_content=morelink&utm_term=Politics

Not that Romney is much better but at least, unlike Obama, he doesn’t behave like he has no use for the military except when they might make him look good.
