That is Sgt. Major Dan Daly, one of two Marines to receive the Medal of Honor twice - for different actions. Major General Smedley Butler was the other.

Sergeant Major Daly was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in the defense of the American Legation at Peking during the Boxer Rebellion and again for fighting Guerrillas in Haiti. He deserved a third Medal of Honor for his actions at Belleau Wood when he rallied troops pinned down by machine gun fire, uttering his famous comment in the process. The higher up brass balked at this and gave him the Navy Cross instead.

As a Pfc in the US Army, the quote from my sergeants that stands out in my memory is: “Don’t let me catch you doing that again”.
