Veteran Jesse Kelly (R) is noncommittal about how he would vote in party leadership races should he be in Congress after the November elections, much like his Democratic opponent in Arizonas competitive special election.
It depends on who is running, he said in an email on Monday when asked if he would vote for Speaker John Boehner (Ohio) to lead his party in the new Congress.
Democrat Ron Barber voiced a similar sentiment in an interview with Roll Call on Monday when he was asked if he would support Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Kellys general consultant, Ed Brookover, criticized Barbers statement on Twitter Monday evening:
In other news from the 8th district special election, Barber released a positive television ad for the last last two weeks of the campaign. The June 12 contest will decide who replaces ex-Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) in Congress. Both parties are spending heavily on what is believed to be a very tight race, which Roll Call rates as a Tossup.
If you can send a few dollars Jesse's way, please do so: http://www.votejessekelly.com/splash3
Kelly is great and should be elected.
Kelly B U M P
We the people can throw out the RINOs on the republican national committee. It was done in Michigan last weekend and it only takes a few hundred dedicated individuals.

Yea!!!
Maybe if We the People continue to bring this up while they're campaiging, it will happen. I, too, pray they dump Boehner. Jesse does seem like a great guy (I've supported his runs) and I hope he sticks to his principals when the DC insiders dangle the goodies.
“We the people can throw out the RINOs on the republican national committee. It was done in Michigan last weekend and it only takes a few hundred dedicated individuals”
Kudos to Michigan.
Let’s hope someone from the House will step forward to challenge WrongWay Boehner.
“Boner has no backbone. Hes too busy worrying about his political career to be of any help to the conservative cause. We need a hard charging Christian conservative idealogue that refuses to compromise with the communists.”
Exactly. Boner’s too worried about his next suntan and manicure appointments to worry about cutting the budget. He is part and parcel of the problem—a big government Republican that will not advance an agenda to radically reduce the size of the federal monster.
“I pray that they dump Boehner, we shall see.”
I agree it’s probably a long shot at this point. I would have thought the Tea Party contingent would have rebelled by now and thrown both Boehner and Cantor out but I haven’t even heard a whiff about anyone challenging Boehner. That’s what caught me about this headline. I hope something’s in the air. Boehner will not make any meaningful changes unless he knows he’ll lose the Speakership if he doesn’t.
“Kelly is great and should be elected.”
BUMP
“Kelly B U M P”
Double B U M P.
And who are you comparing him to ? Denny or Newt. Before that you have to back to 1955 to find another (R) as speaker.
“Sorry guys, Boehner is the best thing to happen to congress for as far as I can remember. He has common sense and empowers his folks while taking the heat... like a good leader. He is stanch conservative... and consistent.”
Mike—what’ve you been smoking?
but John is still my guy.... nevertheless....
I think Jesse is trying to elected, and John bashing is what is necessary for him, particularly if you need to appeal to those on the SharpRight ...
(just as aside John Boehner was my congressman at the time)
