Boisterous celebrity foodie Anthony Bourdain is leaving his long-time post at Travel Channel for a new show on CNN, where he will essentially be doing the exact same thing weighing in on dining and culture from around the world.

Obama supporting loser.
He’s a commie. Who cares? I hope he doubles his smoking habit.
He lost me along time ago....With his Elitist attitude and Commie sympathies he will fit in nicely at CNN!
Reason No. ____ to not watch CNN. Bourdain is a loser.
I used to watch him until I relized how much of a lefty he was.
Bigger audience. His real goal is probably CNN International.
Only in America can a washed-up cook make a fortune travelling the world eating exotic food and making fun of everybody he comes in contact with. Actually, I’m a little jealous I didn’t think of it first!
Watched him a few times,,,,,.... He comes across, at least to me, as a world-class, New York City prig!
He is loyal to the troops and keeping his same production company as he moves over to CNN. Undoubtedly Bourdain and his employees will make more money from this upcoming CNN deal. Nothing wrong with this, libs like their Bourdain and so so do conservatives. Anthony is playing it right for himself and the people who work for him
American capitalism at work.
Seriously Liberal Asshole Jerk.
Bad career move. CNN is circling the bowl. And Bourdain has been tired and even more irritable than usual lately. He has lost whatever passion he had for food and TV and will probably give up on writing too.
He is suited for CNN being a staunch NY liberal. Nothing against him, but I predict that he will be out of work by 2014.
About right..I love the show but also love to cook. It's just a show folks...
I do my share of cursing, but I won’t watch his show because of the amount of pointless swearing. It’s like he thinks using a casual swear word in every third sentence for no descriptive or emotional reason whatsoever makes it “authentic”.
Hardly
He runs his ex junkies mouth about the Right on his shows at will
Its more than food
He is a small L libertarian progressive who loathes traditional values
Earringed, Tattooed SMOKER!! What a LOSER!
Andrew Zimmern on Bizarre Foods makes rapid fire hilarious ad libs while filming his show. Bourdain voice-overs his funny lines after someone writes them for him.
He constantly runs down the “little people” who are beneath his level of smugness.
Oh no!!! Not someone who has a tattoo and smokes. /s Change the channel if you dislike him. I find his travels interesting..
I can’t stand this guy. CNN, just another reason to not watch. He’s an insufferable boor!
He constantly tries to elevate himself while denigrating others. I’ve seen or heard him disparage Paula Deen, Giada De La what’s her name and Bobby Flay. I just can’t stand a cry-baby who has to advance himself by tearing others down.
Tony B gave up smoking due to his wife Octavia who does jiujitsu and likes watching mixed martial arts check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsY17M5k0jI
Tony did OK with Octavia
His shows are interesting, to this suburban shut-in, because of the exotic locations ... but he’s a grouch. I even read his book, in the spirit of fair-mindedness, and he was a grouch there, too.
Informative international visiting, though. I liked the episode where he and a pack of Sicilians got drunk, roasted dead animals, and fired rifles at random. It reminded me of my relatives in Missouri.
He seemed enjoy his visit to Ted Nugent’s ranch shooting off high powered weapons.
I can’t stand that foul mouthed loser.
I like the really weird locations, like Azerbaijan, or wherever it was that he went with the drunk Russian guy.
Ted Nugent was in an episode of “Miami Vice” that Der Prinz and I watched last night. My goodness, we’re all 30 years older than we were back then ...
The only food show I like is cupcake wars-although I really just like plain cupcakes but it is fun to watch!
Agreed. There’s an element of sleaze about Bourdain that’s actually creepy.
Stopped watching him long ago. If he could just talk about food I could stand him but he never misses an opportunity to interject his sophomoric, half baked, liberal ideology into his shows. He’ll be right at home at CNN and I still won’t watch him.
Mark
Sleaze...yes.
I’m a Bourdain fan. So shoot me. But not before we get to try the local fare ... and a good beer.
There was a time a few years ago when a certain celebrity chef's face seemed to be plastered onto every cracker box in the grocery store. My kids even noticed that there was no escape from the ubiquitous troll, because the displays would be all over the stores. I explained to them that it was a case of extreme overexposure of a spokesperson, such that 1) consumers would get sick of her rancid smile, and 2) it showed that she was willing to promote all sorts of garbage without any sense of discriminating taste or values, thereby establishing her credibility as less than Zero.
:)
I've noticed a lot of her junk kitchenware piled up on the clearance shelves.
What u said...i mean lets toss Sir Winston while we’re at it
I prefer smokers as a rule....less pretention...my dear wife on my homepage...i wish she would quit for health but other than that i dig it...its her and i adore her.....mini skirt...heels and a martini and ciggie...one could do worse raising 5 kids
Tats...im done with....enuff is enuff....specially on chicks
Ink should be earned.....ex cons...navy....one percenters
And i have a half sleeve....earned btw
He couldn’t stand the competition from Andrew Zimmern. Tony seems a bit full of himself. Seems like a good match.
“He seemed enjoy his visit to Ted Nugents ranch shooting off high powered weapons.”
I saw that show. #1 he gets his kicks doing it. #2 It gives him conservative credibility so he does it. He has gone shooting in Vietnam and a few other places
HEh, we watched that last night! All the “Vice” episodes are on Netflix streaming. Our baby gets excited when she hears the theme music.
Never watch his show before CNN.
I know who you mean. Nobody’s ever going to accuse Anthony Bourdain of being insincerely chirpy ;-).
If I had unlimited money and time and wasnt so afraid to be killed or getting food poisoning or some sort of exotic disease in some very remote location with little or no available modern medical care, I have to admit that this would be a great way to live. Id love to travel the world, go off the beaten track, get to know the people and experience their culture and their cuisine as long as I could come back home in one piece with all my intestines in tack. : )
Andrew Zimmerman does sort of the same sort of thing but his focus seems to be more of finding the most grossest and most disgusting foods of the country or area, not necessarily the best food like Bourdain does.
I'm put off by the lack of civilized bathroom facilities in most of the world. I enjoy the travel programs, books, and magazines in my secure and sanitary bubble!
Unfortunately Ive experience some very, very uncivilized and vile bathroom facilities right here in the US in my travels that unless they involve a Coke bottle, a pit in the ground and a square of dirty of newspaper, probably rival anything youd find in the third world. In fact squatting over a pit in the ground, or peeing into a Coke bottle and using newspaper for tissue would probably be preferable to some of public restrooms Ive encountered. Most recently my niece and I went to a local McDonalds here in PA with her young kids and took one of her small children into the restroom and immediately walked out, preferring to have her daughter pee in the small potty my niece kept in their minivan for long trips. It was gross to such an extreme that I wanted to throw up and I have a pretty strong constitution. We wiped her kid and me with sanitary wipes just for having gone into that filthy bathroom.
In the episode in which Nugent appeared, there’s a bartender at a poolside bar. That guy was someone I knew from when I lived in Miami. I’m not sure how he got the role since he wasn’t an “actor” but he had a line or two in the episode.
Friend of someone on the set, maybe. My parents used to see Navy people they knew in the background of “Magnum, P.I.” episodes.
