Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has now secured at least 88 of the 155 delegates at stake in the Texas Primary, bringing his secured delegate total to 1174, 30 more than necessary to win the majority of the delegated needed for the GOP nomination.
With 4% of Texas precincts now reporting, Romney has consistently maintained or increased a 60 point lead over his nearest competitor, Congressman Ron Paul.
In the contested race for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, David Dewhurst is holding a 48% to 31% lead over his nearest rival Ted Cruz in a nine person contest.

It would've been nice if Romney had at least planned a cameo appearance in Texas to thank them for putting him over the top.

I didn’t vote for McCain or Romney in the 2008 or 2012 Texas primaries. BUT the field is already so reduced that my vote in the presidential primary never matters.

senate primary thread anyone?
To: Vigilanteman
Question is, will he start talkin’ more liberal, or more conservative?

Got to hand it to the GOP-E.
They picked the AUTHOR OF ROMNEYCARE and gay marriage
and the vulture corporatist from Wall St.
who tanked Massachusetts and has a history
of liberal judge appointments and backstabbing
conservatives.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

No objection if the Senate Primary Results take over the discussion on this thread.
The results are updated at the link . . . and there really isn't much more to discuss on the presidential primary.

Well, just as we are now afraid of offending “moderate” muslims, same “moderates” are afraid of offending extremists in the same psychology.
It progresses like this, meekly, to full bore murder acceptance, the intaking into the club of murderers and “leaders”.
It reads like the show “Fatal Encounters next door”.
Nothing good is going to come out the narcissist fanfare to hate any and all opposition to Romney, to demand an easy and granted win of delegates for him like a spoiled annointed child, to never be challenged and criticized.
He is or they made him into an Obama light, and nothing good is going to come out of this, because now the won is going to use that as a precedent.

Don’t think Dewhurst will get 50%. If Cruz can keep Dewhurst short of the needed 50% win, Cruz will win the runoff in July. Tea Party dudes & chicks, keep finger crossed.

Took him long enough and cost mega millions for him to reach his goal. Of course he had tons of free publicity on his side..thank YOU Faux news.
He should make the speech of a lifetime and reach out to the tea party folks and other conservatives that usually fight to keep candidates like HIM out of DC.
Time for some assurance and a sharp move to the right.

Well, whether zero wins or loses in November, it’s then time for conservatives to start a third party. We’ll have a couple of years to fine tune what the generally disorganized tea party has already accomplished. All we need is a plurality.
RINOs, aka GOPE, like Lugar and Chambliss, of whom I am ashamed to say is my senior senator, are nothing but country club aristocrats, or so they fancy themselves.
We need congressional term limits, and some thoughtful preparation for us to secede from the GOPE, which is the same as the traitorous democrat party. They scratch each others backs. Disgusting.

The GOP has betrayed Conservatives by nominating Romney.
After abandoning Conservative values and losing elections in 2006 and 2008, they told us they were listening and had learned. We gave them another chance in 2010, and now they push Romney? How quickly they forget.
Conservatives are patriots and we must vote for conservatives in the House and Senate to stop Obama's agenda.
Then, we must vote against progressive Romney such that we can nominate a Conservative in 2016 and get the progressives out of power as soon as possible.
Otherwise our next opportunity for a Conservative candidate would be 2024-2028. The march to socialism would be complete.
