Michèle Flournoy, former U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, spoke on Tuesday at the annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) in Tel Aviv.
Finally, Flournoy addressed the Iranian nuclear issue and, while she stressed that President Obama will take no options off the table, she added, Any military strike will only delay, not destroy, Irans nuclear program. American estimates suggest a delay of one to three years for an Israeli strike.
It is something that would buy us time, but it would not by itself solve the problem in any enduring way, said Flournoy, who cited the INSS paper that was distributed ahead of the conference.
The paper, she pointed out, said a military strike would need to be followed by international pressure on Iran. This means that the international community would need to have supported a military strike in the first place.
If Israel, or any other country, were to launch a unilateral strike against Irans nuclear program prematurely, it would undermine the legitimacy of the action in the eyes of the broader international community and would undermine the ability of the international community to come together for this critical longer term campaign, said Flournoy.

He should be run out of that country on rails!
Bingo. The Marxist Muslim in the White House wants delay until Iran has perfected its nuclear weapons and delivery systems and Israel is destroyed. Obama will then drop a few crocodile tears and make a nice speech in memory of the Jews.
Michèle Angelique Flournoy (born December 14, 1960) is Under Secretary of Defense for Policy of the United States. She was confirmed in the position by the U.S. Senate on February 9, 2009 and was at the time the highest-ranking woman to hold a post at the Pentagon in the facility's history.[
he’s right. and the right time would not be until mid-october....think about it folks.
She mentions what a strike might delay, but she doesn’t mention what doing nothing will accomplish.

...would be wrong. Odd phraseology. I suspect anything Israel might do would be wrong.
Prematurely? It should have been a parking lot a decade ago.
That's right - better to hold off until Iran can 'fight back'... a little nuke here - a little nuke there... Michèle Flournoy needs her head examined.
I did the exam on her. One knuckle to the parietal bone confirmed it. The hollow echo meant there’s nothing in there.
