Michelle Obama jokes that the president is as popular as vegetables By Alicia M. Cohn - 05/29/12 11:43 PM ET

First lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday denied that she wields her high popularity over her husband, defending him for "being so consistent in disregarding the chatter."

Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," suggested that the first lady--whose favorability hit 69 percent in a poll from Washington Post/ABC News released last month, a double-digit lead on her husband--is like "ice cream" to the country.

"You exaggerate," the first lady replied. But she added that the president is more like "vegetables" in comparison.

"No, I don't wield it over him," she said of the popularity disparity. "The truth is, one of the things I've seen over the last three and a half years is, I've seen what it takes to be president. I kind of watch this thing pretty closely."

The first lady echoed the Obama campaign in touting the president's accomplishments during his first term, including passing healthcare reform legislation and ending the war in Iraq.

"The thing that it comes down to when you're making those judgment calls is your character," she said. "On the harder decisions, I think he's been so consistent."

She went on to defend Vice President Joe Biden, who has often been cited as the most gaffe-prone member of the ticket, as hardly the black sheep at the White House.

"I love Joe," she said. "He's a great vice president and he's a great friend."

>>> (Michelle Obama) “On the harder decisions, I think he’s been so consistent.”

Yeah, we all know. He is consistently Anti-American as much as possible.

Actually, he is more like a “fruit”. This country would be a lot better off if he was a “vegetable”, rather than a “fruit”. Lets just hope he withers on the vine in November.

Q. What does Barack Hussein Obama have in common with vegetables?

A. His wife is always working to cram both of them down your throat.

Corn takes a lot less than four years to pass. And heaven forbid that the country gets constipated in November.

I didn't know a horse's ass was a vegetable.

I like my vegetables and they have value to all of us.

The broad-backed b***h and her would-be dictator husband are a giant $h!t sandwich that is making our country sick and smelling up the country.

Time to flush both of these turds back into the cesspool they crawled out of.
