Team Romney: Not gonna play repudiation game (Finally!)
The Washington Examiner ^ | 05/29/2012 | Byron York

...Romney aides believe that cooperating with Democrats and media figures who are demanding a Trump disavowal would most certainly lead to more calls for more disavowals of other figures in the future -- leaving Romney spending as much time apologizing for his supporters as campaigning for president.

... Has David Gregory, moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," repudiated his colleague Al Sharpton, the MSNBC host with a decades-long record of incendiary statements and actions?

...By one-sided, they mean not only that Obama has not disavowed SuperPAC contributor Bill Maher for a number of Maher's statements that were particularly insulting to Republican women. They also mean the press, with, as Team Romney sees it, questionable associations of its own. Has David Gregory, moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," repudiated his colleague Al Sharpton, the MSNBC host with a decades-long record of incendiary statements and actions? And has, say, the New York Times columnist Gail Collins repudiated her colleague Charles Blow, who once wrote to Romney, "Stick that in your magic underwear"? Romney, his team believes, understands that the calls for him to repudiate Trump over the issue of birtherism -- and future calls to repudiate this or that supporter next week or next month over some other issue -- are at the core all about politics.

Mitt’s going to stand up to the Jackass Party bullies?!?

This is a strange move for Mitt, as the GOPe would simply rather cave and call a kumbaya with the Democrats.

But maybe something has pressed one of Mitt’s hidden buttons.

Good on Mitt if he means it and doesn’t waffle away in a couple of months.

Another good move, Willard. I've gotta admit.

Just stop playing their game, thats all that needs doing to defeat the media/democrat complex.

All Mitt has to do is stand there and do his best impression of normal (for a fellow with a space case religion) and he’s going to waltz into the White House. I think Barack is beginning to resign himself to losing, and has got bigger and better plans in mind (like maybe trying to become Secretary General of the UN).

With Newt and Trump hanging close by, Myth can finally see what testosterone looks and sounds like and can maybe try and imitate it.

Trump could not care less whether he is “liked”, or not, he will call it as he sees it no matter who likes it.

Newt has always been fearless and in your face with what he believes. (Crushing blow for the country that he isn’t the presidential contender.)

Goofy Myth knows these things. Whether he can learn and apply it 24/7 is, however, highly doubtful. He’s more used to his wife ungluing his foot from his mouth, and running his show, while he stands by and smiles....glowingly.

This is something Newt would do. I wonder if he is having any influence over Mitt?

okay so I’m not a politician, call me naive.

But why doesn’t Mitt, whenever asked if he will repudiate Trump, ask the reporting posing this question if he or she asked Obamer if he will repudiate Maher?

Seems a simple matter, case closed.

Well, after forty years I’d like to see Mitt grab those scissors again, and this time hack the hair off of those homo hippies.

Mitt does not know the words to Kumbaya? This is indeed strange. He will be getting a call from the caveman McCain.

Mitt doesn’t even have to concede that much, really.

If Obama by some odd circumstance throws Maher under the Rat bus, is Mitt obligated to throw Trump under the GOP one?

Every time these goons insist on Romney distancing himself from the eligibility thing, they call more attention to the issue, perfectly teeing it up for Sheriff Joe. Good!

All I know for sure is Obama's lame duck period will be epic.

Willard needs to lash Zer0 to the roof of the campaign bus like the bambi that Zer0 is.

Someone ought to get Mitt several of those huge oversize erasers for “BIG MISTEAKS” ‘cause he will need them for the ton of EO’s the lame duck Obama will issue.

How about asking Obama to repudiate Bill Ayers, or at least stop inviting him to the White House.

You know Ayers, the unrepentant communist domestic terrorist bomber, right Obama? BTW - while we are asking, did he write ‘Dreams From my Father’?

Maybe as a Mormon bishop, Mitt can KOLOBber Obama in the head? (OK, lame lame lame pun. Kolob is the planet of Mormon mythology which is nearest to God.)
