Military Moms Breastfeeding in Uniform Stir Controversy (What has happened to this country?)
yahoo ^ | 5/30/2012 | By Lylah M. Alphonse

At a time when breastfeeding in public is already controversial, pictures of two military moms doing so while wearing their uniforms is sparking outrage.

The photo is part of a local breastfeeding awareness campaign by Mom2Mom of Fairchild Air Force Base, a support group launched in January by Crystal Scott, a military spouse and mother of three. Among the intimate close-ups of smiling young mothers cuddling their adorable babies, the images of the two airmen stand out.

My, how times have changed.

In 1954 while I was 15 and my sister 13, having been ‘farmed out’ to my Grandfather and Aunt/Uncle my mother, an RN for about 17 years tried to join the Air Force Nurse Corps and she was turned town because of me and my sister.

Also, she was a long time customer of All State Auto Ins and when she came up for renewal in 1957, they turned her down because I was 17 - and in the Navy, not living at home.
Said they didn’t insure folks with teen agers of driving age.

At least the one woman covered herself. A woman does not need to be fully exposed.

Thank you. There is nothing redeeming about these women breastfeeding in front of a camera and in uniform.

Is it wrong to assume this will be used by the Obama campaign is some way to further the “conservative War on Women” lie?

Always plenty of self-centered attention ho's who will rush in for their 15 min., no matter how offensive, inappropriate, or antisocial their behavior is.

In the Bad Old Days, exhibitionists could simply be laughed at by their neighbors. Now, everyone can be a star on teh Interwebs and pretend their personal desire to show their breasts or genitals is social activism.

Who is this ‘controversial’ to???

It is the most natural thing in the world- who looks at a breast-feeding mother and things they are seeing something wrong?

Throughout most of the Roman Empire, legionaries were not allowed to marry. Of course they had clandestine families with local women near their camps. This changed by the fall of Rome. Archeological digs of overrun or abandoned camps reveal evidence of the wives and kids living side by side with the soldiers. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

“I have so much respect for those who serve. I’m also a nursing mother (counting down the days lol!). I don’t think moms should serve. There. I wrote it. It’s not PC and I don’t care.”

The next thing you know, feminists will be fighting for the right of “military moms” to take their young-uns right into combat situations, too! Because, after all, “mom” comes first, not “country”!
