You would be surprised how many people on FR show up to defend animal cruelty by saying that it is only an animal.

In fact there have been those who have defended it on the basis of private property.

Now 'many' isn't 'none'.

I have seen a number of Freepers (maybe they were just lurkers), come on those threads and defend that action and wonder why people were getting so upset over it.

I’ve been here for 10 years, and I have seen such comments. I do not agree with the FReeper that there are ‘many’ FReepers who say/believe that (a very very small minority since most FReepers have functional minds), but they definitely do exist. Give the thread some time and I am sure one will show.

Now, they might not condone the cruelty, but they do wonder why there is such a fuss being made over it.

They think if you are against animal cruelty you must be an animal rights defender.

Some people have a hard time dealing with distinquishing concepts, that one can be against animal cruelty and not be for animal 'rights'.
