With 'Lord on their side,' Romney and Republicans may very well prevail

) Now that Mitt Romney has officially secured enough delegates with his Texas primary victory to clinch the Republican nomination, Mormons seem like a block of voters the Republicans can count on come November. This isn't just because Mr. Romney is Mormon.

It's because the Republican Party is now securing support from voters of every major religion in the United States, with the exception of Islam.

For nearly three decades Christian Evangelicals have tended to be reliably Republican. (Today, 70 percent of white evangelical Protestants support the GOP.) But now Mormons, Jews, and Catholics are getting on board with the party in increasing numbers. If the GOP is able to consolidate the support of the major religions in the US, Romney and other Republican candidates stand to win big at the polling booth in 2012 and well beyond.

Certainly, voters of a certain religion don't always vote as a bloc, and recent trends indicate that some young Evangelicals are rejecting the "partisan pulpit" and embracing traditionally liberal or Democratic values. But these religious groupings have had historic party allegiances that played out on election day as confirmed by the Pew Research Center Survey in 2009 following the 2008 presidential election.

It is encouraging to read that Catholic and Jews are abandoning the democratic party... although I wish the numbers were higher! But we still have 5 months to form an "anybody-but-obama" coalition and bring our country back from the brink!

Catholics and Jews are getting better but have a long way to go. As two groups go— they are not conservative across the board. Jews’ primary concern is US-Israel relationship and religious Catholics are primarily concerned about social isasues—abortion, gay marriage etc. The hierarchy of the RC church is rather quasi-socialist in its outlook. All one has to do is read the stufff coming out of the Conference of Catholic Bishops. They are always publishing stuff.

To most seriously religious Jews, the Mormon church is no weirder than the Christian one. You’ve got to be a fly on the wall to appreciate it. As a Christian I of course disagree.

It’s the US conference of Catholic bishops, to be exact. Many countries have such conferences. The more conservative side of the Catholic church voices audible discontent with these conferences, and especially the US one. I’d even heard once that the present pope was thinking about abolishing the USCCB.

Billy Jeff used to fake it, hauling to church a Bible the size of a phone book.

Bammy, on the other hand, doesn't. He has made it real clear he will roll over any religious people who get in the way of his one world, pro-abortion agenda.

The religion of the Democratic Party is environmentalism and global-warmism. The votes of Catholics and Jews are welcome, so long as they don't expect any respect for their views.

Jews’ primary concern is US-Israel relationship...

I would estimate that most American Jews are primarily concerned with advancing big government collectivism and expanding the legal and regulatory sphere.

This is why Jews in America tend to overwhelmingly vote and donate 'Rat.

Just an FYI I found:

According to the exit polls, last election Barack Obama won 47% of white Catholics. He only won 34% of white Protestants.

“To most seriously religious Jews, the Mormon church is no weirder than the Christian one. You’ve got to be a fly on the wall to appreciate it. As a Christian I of course disagree.”

As a Catholic, I find every non-Catholic religion to be extremely weird.

Mormons, Jews and Protestants all indulge in multiple forms of heresy according to established Catholic doctrine. Therefore, to single out the Mormons as the preferred target of ridicule just seems to be fundamentally unfair.

Your taking the Lords name in vain is a sure way to lose friends and certainly keep you from positively influencing your enemies.

It is you I don’t understand. I understand that I can’t always have everything I want. I wanted and still want Michelle Bachman, I’m obviously not going to get my wish this go around. If I would have had my wish and Bachman would have won the nomination, should all of the Romney supporters just stayed home?

Romney is not my first choice. I will be voting for Romney and I won’t even complain about it because he is so head over heels better than Obama that it isn’t even necessary to talk about it. I hope that Romney is better than I expect, but, I expect him to be a lot better than Obama.

Instead of cursing, go out and find out how to support Michelle Bachman or whomever it is that you think would be our best choice.

I can guarantee this though, using The Lords name in vain will not help your cause with Him or many of us.

It cracks me up when these clowns declare God to be on their side when they don’t have the courage to acknowledge what a pathetic liberal piece of garbage Mittens is, let alone his support for inflicting gay “parents” on adopted children.

Your vocabulary is kind of limited, so I’ll make it simple: are you going to vote for Obama rather than acknowledge that Romney is a capitalist? Let’s face it, staying home is just like voting for Obama.

I think that religious affiliation doesn’t matter that much when it comes to voting. In other words, I think he picked up a sizeable minority of Catholics not based on their religion, but because they were union members in traditionally democrat, blue collar districts.

Said it before and I’ll say it again: The country can’t be saved until and unless Christians stop supporting what they say they hate.

Romney Republicanism. Leave your principles by the door. You won’t be needing them anymore.
