Obama Order Sped Up Wave of Cyberattacks Against Iran (taking credit for Stuxnet)
NY Times ^ | 6-1-2012 | DAVID E. SANGER

WASHINGTON — From his first months in office, President Obama secretly ordered increasingly sophisticated attacks on the computer systems that run Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facilities, significantly expanding America’s first sustained use of cyberweapons, according to participants in the program.

Mr. Obama decided to accelerate the attacks — begun in the Bush administration and code-named Olympic Games — even after an element of the program accidentally became public in the summer of 2010 ...

This is SO reckless and improper. Never tell your enemy what you are doing or what you did. Force them to spend time chasing their own tail, and trying to figure out who did it? was it an accident? was it internal sabotage? Was it Israel? etc.

It’s an act of war, really. Not that I’m against it. Someone should go to jail for life for leaking this.

Yes, according to the our US mandarins, it is an act of War. If another country did it.

Now, since Obama has admitted we did it. Does that mean, we now have to pay the private sector companies and businesses that were infected by state sponsored sabotaging?

National security is not as important as reelection.
Nothing is as important as reelection.

I think Obama is taking credit for Israel's operation and Israel is not going to comment.

First he stirs the pot with the special forces going into NK and now he tells Iran we attacked them.

he’s trying to start a war

But it’s ok because he consulted the writings of Steve Jobs and Isaac Asimov first? ;)

“he’s trying to start a war”

If I thought that I would be cheering him on we need to take care of Iran..the sooner the better.

But I actually think he’s trying to use this to try to buy more time before the Israeli’s attack.

I tend to agree with you - who knows if the article is true or not, but if The Exalted One actually did something to keep Iran away from a nuke then I’m for it. Whatever his motivations were...

I don’t mean a war with Iran, or just Iran. I mean a world war to promote Islam.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I used to have breakfast with some homocide cops in Philly during the period when the mobsters were shooting one another. One of them told me some REAL facts about one of the cases. It was not anything like what the news was printing, not at all. I asked him why they didn’t straighten the news people out. He said they loved it when the news people made stuff up. It made it easy to find a jury that was not adulterated.

We had George Anastasia doing articles on the mob. The mod was elated, since then the public did not know what was really going on.

I think you are right and Israel is sitting quiet and letting goofus claim the credit.

I have no problem with doing it.

But why does this idiot broadcast the fact.

He keeps his own secrets and gives ours away.

Someone once said he was smart. I beg to differ.

We are all ready engaged in a world war declared by folks that want to promote Islam. Again if the POTSU recognized this I'd be for it.

Unfortunately think its more of a ploy to stop the Israel's from doing what must be done

I agree with you - his self-aggrandizing “leaks” make me sick and likely cost American lives.

On the other hand, I doubt it was much of a secret, except for amongst us proles.

“They are engaged in a war with us. We aren’t”

You got that right.

I'm beginning to lose hope that nothing but a massive attack on the USA with WMD’s will wake people up to the fact that this is a life or death struggle that is only over when they win or we win.

Since zero was pres, the White House has told the world more secrets than it needs to know.

This is what the hippies mean by ‘transparency’ in government. They can’t stomach the ideas of intelligence, clandestine, covert, or American exceptional-ism. Just so long as the gov is handing out the dole, real work against our enemies will not be tolerated. If zippy really is taking credit for this activity (as he apparently is according to the compost), it will be just as damaging as leaking the cell exploitation (which was subsequently lost).

All this yet it is ok to install a gang of chi-town thugs, communists, and activists at the highest levels....

Vote hard!

Not only is this reckless and improper, it’s really stupid. A cyber attack on another country by itself is only a nuisance. If you want to STOP a country from engaging in a policy, a cyber attack is only effective as a part of a much larger, coordinated attack on that country. In other words, you take down that country’s computer systems to blind them and remove their command & control. It is only effective for a short duration, but during that time, you actually, really, physically ATTACK them.

Did the suxtnet virus stop the Iranians from making nukes? Nope, it only slowed them down. It did not stop them. If a guy is beating you on the head with a two-by-four, your goal is to make him stop, not make him slow down.

Out idiot president does not realize any of this.

(Note to self)
Instead of clumsy Obama campaign to boost his macho image as I originally thought, is it possible that some one(s) inside this admin realized Obama is very likely to lose and leaked this story and secret kill list to media, trying to force him out? Even though leaking both stories are reprehensible.

In the meantime, we see an increase in Bill Clinton's activities?
