The big secret is out. The New York Post is reporting that DC Comics original Green Lantern of the past 70 years - will come out of the closet as a gay man in next weeks issue of "Earth 2." This particular character, Alan Scott, his alter ego, is being re-woven into the series through obvious agenda politics, but most comic book readers will tell you it is hardly a huge victory for LGBT activists hoping for a gay Superman or gay Batman.
Without going too much into the weeds of comic book geek-dom, here are some important points to consider. Alan Scotts Green Lantern is not the Green Lantern many non-comic book readers have become familiar with from the movie and cartoons recently.

They will sell a lot of this one comic, then sales are going to plunge.
Every gay/bi/les is going to want a copy.
Everyone else....forget about it
Short term thinking vs long term consequences
does anyone buy comic books any more?
what kid will buy this one now?
He’ll also be changing his identity from the Green Lantern to the Chartreuse Flame.
I thought it was going to be Barry Allen.
I stopped buying them when they went up to 15 cents.
homosexuals will hand them out as a conditioning/recruiting tool.
Abusers will use them.
This should not be availible to anyone under the age of 18. They should put it behind the counter out of reach of minors.
It should also be in a plain brown wrapper!
Seem to recall that in the late 60’s early 70’s, a bunch of super heroes had corners cut off their “super-hero-man-cards” with the introduction of angst-y,squishy, emotional back stories and relationships......
Sounds like now, the corners are off and it is time to turn in that tote’n chip!
civil disobedience at the bookstores? move them to behind the dustiest obscure literature part of the store?
Oh this is so funny. Keep in mind that I’m not making this up. The weakness of the original Green Lantern? Wait for it....wood.
Their pants looks like bowel control problem.
I knew it! Green Lantern is expendable. DC comics would not dare touch their money-making men in tights, Superman or Batman.
Ryan Reynolds was out talking about Green Lantern 2 - I wonder if he will play a gay character.
and they killed his precursor with arrows. IOW a wooden shaft...
(the right was found by a chinese warlord who oppressed the pesants and they killed him with arrows of wood.)
the entire DC publishing board should be fired for this.
