The big secret is out. The New York Post is reporting that DC Comics original Green Lantern of the past 70 years - will come out of the closet as a gay man in next weeks issue of "Earth 2." This particular character, Alan Scott, his alter ego, is being re-woven into the series through obvious agenda politics, but most comic book readers will tell you it is hardly a huge victory for LGBT activists hoping for a gay Superman or gay Batman.
Without going too much into the weeds of comic book geek-dom, here are some important points to consider. Alan Scotts Green Lantern is not the Green Lantern many non-comic book readers have become familiar with from the movie and cartoons recently.

Good news, it’s not Superman or Batman. I knew they wouldn’t be that stupid.
It’s.......the Green Lantern. Or one of them cause Wikipedia says there are like 5, this was the first one but the least prominent. People have heard of the Green Lantern (there was a recent flop movie) but this can be filed under who cares.

I’m thinking about costume sales. On an episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Green Lantern seemed like a popular costume choice among comic book enthusiasts. No one is gonna wear it now.
Though since queers love playing dress up and going on parade I suppose they will more than make up for lost sales.

call your local comics shop and let them know you wont allow your kids to buy dc comics anymore.
pedo friendly topics are not appropriate for children
tell the comics shop owner youll also suggest the parents in your kids school and church should do the same
dont get into a conversation over it. youre just making a statement and dont need to be educated
this will make the shop owners very unhappy... and that message will reach dc
boycott dc comics
This is unfortunately a new trend with the media companies. Look at Fox and News Corp - they are promoting homosexuality to children on broadcast TV with that "Glee" crap and Rupert Murdoch is laughing all the way to the bank. Murdoch and the Fox networks lost all credibility with Conservatives when they started promoting homosexuality to children, but they haven't suffered financially, and I doubt DC/Warner will suffer for this.

Yeah, pretty much....:^)
The way I see it...you can either laugh at things....or just freak.
There’ll be a time to freak later...so right now, I’ll just laugh.
Ya know?

Short term thinking vs long term consequences That describes much of the gay world. Consider the long-term wisdom of gay sex in the Age of AIDS.

98% of Americans are NOT gay...
2% or less are gay.
Throwing away 98% for the sake of the 2% is an interesting business model.

That’s a good point, dressing up like the Green Lantern was pretty gay already.

This should not be available to anyone under the age of 18. Agreed. However...can you imagine denying access to the latest issue of X-Men to anyone under 18??? This one is flying under the gaydar for some reason...Astonishing X-Men #51 depicts an inter-racial SODOMITE wedding right on the cover. For some reason, that one is being ignored.

Theyll laugh as they hang up the phone. Disagree. Most comic shops are scared sh*tless of bad publicity...see if your local media outlet would like to know what is being marketed to children. The networks wouldn't care, but small market stations love controversial stories like this...bad publicity is the LAST thing a comic shop needs...

They will sell a lot of this one comic, then sales are going to plunge. Exactly. These will be on eBay for premium prices in short order, but will be worthless in months. P. T. Barnum syndrome...remember that Spider-Man comic with the usurper on the cover? They were selling for $75!!! (and higher) within days of its release. Look at the same book on eBay now...you can't give them away...suckers. Same thing here.

I’ll repeat this one more time: If children still bought or read comics you’d have a point. They don’t anymore, and you don’t, end of story.
