ABOARD A US MILITARY AIRCRAFT Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says he does not see the U.S. taking military action in Syria without the backing of a U.N. Security Council resolution something that so far appears unlikely because of opposition from Russia.
Panetta says his greatest responsibility is to make sure that if U.S. troops are deployed in any military role that America has the support it needs from the international community.
The World’s Police Chief hiding behind the UN.. uhhh
why do we have a UN again?
We need to stay out of this. It’s none of our business. Leave it up to the Middle East to handle their own problems.
I can see Osama starting something to try for the “rally around the flag” gambit to save his reelection.
No, you old commie. Your greatest responsibility is to protect the United States of America.
January 20th can not come fast enough. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree. Stay out of this totally. They have been killing each other for centuries, it is internal and political struggle that goes back long before United States even existed.
“Leave it up to the Middle East to handle their own problems.”
Agreed. After seeing those muzzies jumping for joy, while our people were jumping out of the WT towers. I could ‘shiv-agit’ what happens to them.
Syria is not our fight... just as Libya wasn’t... yet watch Obama decide he needs a diversion from the hum-drum of economic failure to buck up his base.
And Russia didn’t show for the Camp David meeting because???Hmmm wonder why...so he didn’t get lectured by Obama??
As long as we pay the bill, expect the UN to send the US military everywhere, all the time, for anything.
especilly if it makes a good photo op for Brave Sir Barry.
I think your country has enough problems of their own then dealing with something that has been going on for centuries.
Panetta is losing his steam.
Without the UN huh? And no mention of the U.S. Congress??? Hmmmmmmmmm
Don’t worry,Kofi Annan, UN Envoy, may be “Impatient and frustrated,” but he is handing things just fine. Just as he did on the dusty trails of Rwanda when the Hutu’s came a callin’....
no military action without approval of Congress
How about no US involvement in Syria without Congressional OK?
Sure. Why not? No need for Congress—it’s only a ceremonial body. We have the president and the UN—just like the constitution requires.......................
