SANFORD, Fla. - A judge Friday revoked bond for George Zimmerman, and gave the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin 48 hours to surrender.

Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. said that Zimmerman engaged in "material falsehood" about money in issuing his ruling.

About an hour before the ruling came, prosecutors in the second-degree murder case again Zimmerman had filed a new motion requesting the bond revocation. They contended Zimmerman's wife knew about the donations he had collected through a PayPal account, but didn't mention the money at his bond hearing.

Zimmerman's PayPal account collected more than $200,000, his attorney later revealed.

"Defendant has intentionally deceived the court with the assistance of his wife, Shelley Zimmerman. During the jail phone calls both of them spoke in code to hide what they were doing," the motion read.

The judge said Zimmerman had misled the court at his bond hearing.

The defense says the finances are an innocent misunderstanding.

Prosecutors also argued that Zimmerman has a second passport in addition to the one he surrendered....

LOL, Ive never seen the law discourage a lawyer from filing suit. Sometimes I think if the lawyer herd was thinned about by about 95% it would be a good start to turing this nation around. At least it would clean the place up. Id also ban them from holding any public office ever.

Perhaps they need to get Zimmerman away from his protection so that he can be “taken care of” and avoid the messiness of a trial and the aftermath.

I'd say they're pretty much *begging* for a "messy aftermath".

"other than fear of attack from people agitated by the case"

Don't the New Mulatto Panther Party still have a bounty out on him?

Zimmerman’s lawyer should have gotten in front of this and resolved it BEFORE the judge revoked his bond.

He apparently knew about the PayPal account and had already taken control of it as far back as the bail hearing. The prosecution and the Trayvonistas are just making a big deal out of it now because his attorney announced that he wants to depose as many as 50 witnesses before the stand your ground hearing and may want to use that money for those depositions.

The prosecution wants to deprive them of that money for those depositions, and have it go into his bond for bail instead. This is how they want justice for Trayvon -- by depriving justice for Zimmerman.

If that is the plan then I bet that they will be sadly surprised when the Lawyer does it anyway. The potential earnings from Books, tours, speaking engagements, etc.

"And Angela Corey engaged in MULTIPLE "material falsehoods" in her press conference and subsequent indictment, including photos and EMS and police reports favorable to the defense. She should be the one in jail, or disbarred."

You hit the nail square on the head with that post.

Social justice. . Going to backfire. . Obama not having a good week.

Well, this just helped Obama’s week, as it will rally his base even more around him. If Zimmerman isn't gulity, why would he need to run? I'm not pro-Zimmerman or anti-Zimmerman. I just want justice to prevail and all the facts put on the table at the trial.

I suspect that you are correct, but that they also want to set up GZ’s wife as a pawn. They will either use her to force GZ to plea, or she will be forced to testify against GZ. Welcome to Stalinism.

On balance it seems the judge is being petulant. Yes, judges do not like to be misled but GZ’s attorney should have cleared this all up.

Ordinarily these “defense funds” are for the attorney fees. This should not have been considered GZ’s money, except that he set up the website before his current lawyer came aboard. He still had the morons.

Second, he surrendered his US passport but did he keep a Peruvian passport? Is it expired as some say?

The judge should havs simply set a hearing (or discussed it with lawyers only and then maybe raised bond limit). Now if GZ goes back to jail, it will produce a huge security risk, much more cost to county, GZ will not be able to meet with his legal team (except when they come to his cell). It is all very unprofessional, and reminiscent of Judge Ito’s slap stick courtroom.

People who are politically incorrect or politically inconvenient have a way of dying in prison, witness the cases of Jim McDougal and Slobodan Milosevic.

What I'm wondering is whether or not there's any sort of organization or anything which might want to get involved in this one while there's still time...

“But I think he knew on the day of his bond hearing that he had the money.”

That’s speculation on your part, isn’t it?

Alan Dershowitz is yelling. Amnesty International could get involved, but they are like ACLU: all Libs

Maybe Judge, O’Mara (sic?) and that idiot prosecutor have come together with plan to put him in the pokey to keep Zimmerman's “Dead or Alive”
Bounty being fulfilled.

Maybe he was in front of this - he has to know Zimmerman and his family are bounty targets.

Maybe the safest place for Zimerman is 24/7 solitary with guards out side the cell and cameras all over the place to make sure bounty is not fulfilled.

Maybe a “scheme” was forced on her on account of her “material falsehoods”.

She might be in the “little chair” due to her shenanigans.

With the regards that Ricky H has for our southern neighbors, I would not blame him if he did flee. Just because they are duly elected doesn’t mean they aren’t a lynch mob!
