In New York City - which already bans smoking in public parks in the name of public health and bars artificial trans fats from food served in restaurants - Mayor Michael Bloomberg now wants to stop sales of large sodas and other sugary drinks, in a bid to battle obesity. But in a country where fries have been equated with freedom, Bloomberg's proposal begs super-sized questions about government's role in shaping and restricting individual choices. What's next, a Twinkie purge?

It all started when America(generally) stopped teaching HISTORY and CIVICS in public schools..
Ignorance of the past dooms a society to repeat it..
Many important subjects are NOT taught in public schools anymore..
BUT history and civics is the worse mistake...

The “people” have become sheep generally . but many are pigs.. or Vampires(parasites)..
The “enemy” took over academia and the teachers schools and of course the Unions..
Without a STAMPEDE the sheep are screwed AND then EATEN...
Good-bye a dozen donuts or bagels. No cake, brownies or sweetrolls.
So it is okay to serve beer , wine and sangria by the pitcher but no pitcher of soda.
You need to sneak home and guzzle you 2 or 3 liter bottles, but “Nanny B” bans them from being sold.
I’m wondering when Bloomie is going to make his move against New Yorkers who like their corned beef piled high and cut from the fatty end of the brisket? Plenty of unhealthy (if delicious) fat/calories in the point cut, after all.
It’s scary what one can justify under the pretenses of “the common good”, truly scary.
Sell the syrup/soda mix in the desired container. Sell sugar to anyone who wants it.

Let’s face it, folks ... New York City is the perfect place for people who need someone else to run their lives. That place hasn’t been “American” in more than 150 years.
