Gov. Jerry Brown plans to fast-track high-speed rail through courts

Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing to fast-track California's $69 billion high-speed rail project by easing legal scrutiny under the state's landmark environmental law, this newspaper learned Friday.

The proposal, which the Legislature would have to approve this month as part of launching the state's biggest-ever construction project, does not change the California Environmental Quality Act. But Brown's plan, while angering environmentalists, would have two major consequences.

First, it virtually takes away the final bullet in the chamber that project opponents were hoping to use to kill high-speed rail: a court-ordered injunction halting construction.

Second, the proposal adds to a growing number of large-scale projects that Brown and former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger have tried to exempt from the most intense environmental legal scrutiny by arguing that California needs to create jobs quickly.

The opposite of the Kenyan's stance on the Keystone pipeline. These Marxists need to get on the same page.

Apparently, some of Moonbeam’s “friends” must be among the payees on this project whereas Barack’s buds make money if the pipeline does not get completed [The Real Buffett (and Soros) Rule].

Is the Fedgov going to bankroll a couple billion in “loans” to set up a train factory or will Moonbeam order them from China?

Okay, let me get this straight. Gov Brown is going to use tax payer money to take the tax payer funded Cal-EPA to court over the tax payer funded high speed train?

"High-speed rail" is code for "union boondoggle."

Schwarzenegger signed the MOU with China to build the trains.

Don’t you remember the numerous trips he took to China while governor?

But the Brown family has a history of working with Asian communists and dictators to hobble the California economy while making vast sums of money for themselves.

They are both dialed in to the Chinese corruption machine.

Maybe they should pay for it by enabling construction of more wells for off-shore drilling and the easing of environmental restrictions.

Hey, if you are going to piss off the envirowhackos, you might as well go all out.

I hope you don’t like to eat because much of the fresh produce you eat comes from California. If California dies, so does a major part of the food supply.

That is of course you want all your food to come from China.

They are on the same page. Whatever the Marxist dictators want they get. Whatever the proles want is suppressed.

Oh and by the way, have you read the Republican party platform on Whitehouse 2012?

It reads like the United Nations wrote it.

The cancer is everywhere.

""High-speed rail" is code for "union boondoggle."

Exactly

Of the $69 billion (and you KNOW there will be huge cost overruns), 40% will be for labor costs, which means that $1.2 billion will go to unions, of which $1 billion (or more) will end up in Democrat campaign coffers.

Just the Jackass Party's way of money-laundering TAX-PAYERS' money.
