Do you know any repentant Obama voters?

Posted on 06/02/2012 8:26:18 AM PDT by MNDude

I know a guy who voted for Obama because he said "you have to admit, we really need change." Now he claims he's the worst President ever and he can't wait to vote against him (although I guess his wife didn't let him sleep with her for a month after voting Obama)

I knew several senior citizens who voted for Obama out of anger at Bush who now hate Obama because of the ObamaCare thing.

Any of you know any repentant Obama voters? Anyone ever heard of a McCain voter now supporting Obama?

That's a fact. I know many that voted for him and refuse to admit their error in judgment. However I sense they will secretly vote for Romney.

I personally know of 12 including:

My 84 year old parents who are lifelong Democrats (LLD's).

An Attorney, LLD who is so appalled by Eric Holder that he switched parties.

My Son's in law's, LLD's main reason: economic failure.

My brother - another LLD and former Union steward (now retired).

I know 2, one of which is my brother in law. Even some of the true believers at work aren’t happy.

“Not one.
Even those who think he is terrible, are still going to vote for him because they are terrified that Republicans are going to oppress them.”

Dittos to that, in fact what I have seen is that some conservative friends will just sit out the election saying the Repubs are just as bad as the Dems.

I know some Obama voters who have too much personally invested in him, who identify strongly with him, who feel that to vote against him would be admitting that they were stupid to fall in love with him in the first place.

Their pride won't let them admit their error.

However, I'm wondering if a lot of these types will end up staying home, and not voting for anyone in November...

For my Kennedy-democrat parents, his ‘coming out’ in support of gay marriage was the final straw. My mom told me recently she is probably going to vote for Ron Paul. I told her that would make her grandchildren very happy.

I gave up a while ago arguing for the republican side with them, no traction at all. Once I switched it up to blaming things on the permanent politicians, “they ALL stink, they all need to go” they were much more receptive. If I can’t gain votes for Mitt, at least I can take away votes from the Kenyan.

I’m going to a clan reunion in Atlanta next month. It’s going to be very interesting to see how many of my wild-eyed life-long demonRat cousins are still as slobberingly devoted to hussein. My brother is a lost cause, but my sisters more than make up for him. Being a bunch of Detroiter Micks, we voted rat for many cycles before seeing the light.

I suspect even if Obama delivered everything he had promised he would have trouble getting the vote out close to the numbers he achieved in 2008. Some people wanted simply to make history.

"I have seen plenty of Obama 2012 bumperstickers..."

You need to keep a few of these notes handy to leave on their windshields.

Same here, not one. It’s a true mental disorder.

They can be easily spotted by the wrist casts.

One I know fell down and broke both wrists, while the other showed her true colors. Get that ‘Her’. She goes out and takes motorcycle riding lessons and gets her license.

She next takes delivery of a brand new Harley Sportster (bad choice). Starting it up in her driveway for the first time, she puts it in gear and looses control driving through the next door neighbors privacy fence both totaling the bike and breaking her wrist.

DIL’s mother and grandmother, both east coast Jewish liberals, are voting for Romney this time around. I believe it is both of their first Republican votes.

I know a very obviously gay guy who is furious with Obama over his giveaways to the parasite class, while he’s struggling to make a living.

I don’t know if Obama bought his vote back with his gay marriage pander. I certainly hope not.

I know another guy who said he was always a democRat, but Obama has pushed him into the Tea Party.

I know many, and they are very remorseful, and I rub it in, I told you so, didn’t I tell you, you’re going to regret it, on and on like that. They take my rub in stride, and some even respond, yeah you told me...it is encouraging to see how many are in regret.

They are no longer fooled by spin, it is encouraging and refreshing indeed.

I’m not sure however, my experience is only typical of those I know, and not all but most, your experience with those who voted for Zero may be much different.

I was working on the computer of a very religious black customer the day obammy announced his gay marriage stance. She was pissed. She even asked if she had to vote for him come November. I told her no.

I know several who admitted to voting for 0 bummer for his rock star image. Not one will vote for him in Nov. There have been a lot of callers to KLBJ in Austin recently who admit they were wrong about voting for him because of white guilt.

My daughter warned several of her college friends about his socialist views. They are finding out how hard it is to find work now, and are not happy with the won.

My friends who voted for Obama in 2008, will vote for him again. One of them volunteered at Obie’s inauguration, and told me she will do so again in 2013. Another one has been unemployed for the last several years. She claims her problems started under President Bush and that the reason she is still unemployed is that those heartless Republicans in Congress are fighting all of Obama’s programs. She actually hopes when Obama is re-elected, he will “do away with Congress” so he can accomplish everything he sets out to do without further restriction.

These are true believers. I just can’t talk about anything political with them. I tried to explain to one of them about the death panels under Obamacare. I was told this was propaganda perpetrated by Fox News and the Republicans, and that “they will never happen.” It’s frightening because these friends are well educated. They have the internet so they should be able to do their own research, but they won’t. Whatever lies Obama tells them, they believe without question.

My father-in-law watches television news and parrots what he sees there. Of course seniors felt that everything was Bush's fault. They saw it on TV. Right after Judge Judy and before America's Funniest Home Videos.

I’ve seen more than a few Obama 2012 bumper stickers while driving around CA. Not nearly as many as ‘08, but still more than expected.
